Rezero Episode 5

Comments

If i could turn myself into a dog, I would probably do the same thing. Why not gather a group of wild dogs to attack and troll humans?

Didier

Lol I’m glad you think so!

Ma'am, i made a comment in a literal comment section. If you don't relate to it scroll half an inch further and save us both time of the day.

Wes, I just wanted to let you know that whenever you do that “A” sound to imitate the creepy noises it gives me a good chuckle 😆

For pronunciation, just call them by how they're spelt. Rem is Rem, Ram is Ram. You hear "Remu" and "Ramu" on and off because of how the Japanese language is. In Japanese most words end in a vowel, excluding the consonant "n". ("All Japanese syllables are open, meaning they end in a vowel. The only exception to this rule is the "n" syllable. The final syllable of a word can also end in a nasalized "m", "n", or "ng"") So when pronouncing things such as "Rem" it doesn't flow well to a Japanese speaker unless also fluent in English, thus you will often hear Japanese people add vowels to words that don't have a vowel or end with an "n". Even "y" which Americans consider a vowel (sometimes) which isn't one in Europe, Japanese will pronounce "curry" (cuh ree) as "kah reh". Where as it's 50/50 on if "Sky" will be "sky" or "sky-u". So yeah, as negative as it seems keep pronouncing it as Ram and Rem, they're technically the ones mispronouncing it, but it's cute. The Japanese language in general is very cute and elegant lol

The Egg Unhatching

The intrusive/linking R would be a better example in English, i suppose.

BTW during the lap pillow scene Emilia thought Subaru talked about his life before meeting her. You should ask yourself why Subaru was so accepting to come to this world in the first place

Ramish Butt

Yep sorry, I misspelled it, although if you're still searching for books, might I reccomend the re zero light novels, they're a great read

wess will never get it. LOL I think it is funny how so many comments are complaining about Japanese pronunciation. With only 5 vowel sounds you think it would be easier.

my bad, just shows how bad i am at my first language

Kai Kage

These episodes have a lot of rewatch-value with quite a lot of things you could notice about each character once you learn more about them in later seasons. Beako for instance, she usually just give off deadpan looks with very minor reactions, but when you learn more about her you can get a feel for what she thinks of Subaru's various interactions, and why she helps more in some loops while she has to be persuaded in others~

LN Trivia regarding Subaru's Shamac explosion: . . . . . . . . . . . When Rem saw such a big smokescreen in the aproximate area in which Emilia was she considered this a threat. She immediately moved to kill the offender and would have if not stopped by Ram. Ram later warned Subaru not to provoke her sister too much.

To expand on what Kai Kage says in their comment, Rem and Ram is the pronunciation they are going for, but the Japanese language doesn't have just M, they have Ma Me Mi Mo Mu, since the U in Mu is mostly silent, it's what the Japanese use for the English M, but since they use Katakana for Rem and Ram instead of Hiragana, it shows they are going for a English pronunciation over a Japanese one with a harder U sound. The only reason we can hear the tiny space of sound that the Mu makes, is because Subaru is adding an endearment at the ends of their names, and the Japanese are incapable of just making the M sound and moving into another one. Their language compels them to have that little voiced breath that their U makes. ☺️ The best example I can think of is when Americans say something like Cheese, where it's an S sound but our language teaches us to make it a Z sound. I'm sure we have a better example that is closer but I'm blanking lol so technically it's correct to only say Rem and Ram, but the characters for their names is Re-mu レム and Ra-mu ラム. Not pronounced like Reh-moo, or Rah-moo, but more like Reh-m (very tiny voiced breath that sounds like ö or eu?) so it's just easier to consider the U silent for English speakers lol. Also I'm enjoying your theories 🤣 too bad you won't find out for waaaaay too long. I wouldn't complain if ya'll did more than one ep a week lol the one a week is killing me~ Oh and aside from Rem losing control because she suppresses her powers so much, I think she was laughing story mechanic wise because of the talk about the saying that Oni laugh about the future, and how Subaru wants to laugh like an Oni. I think it was a bit of clever writing to connect our brains to the conversations he had with them that hinted to them being Oni.

My personal interpretation of puck’s shamac is that the cut to black and silence is what Subaru actually experiences, and the purple background that fades in is just for the viewers’ sake in order to not just have it be a blank black screen. It also makes more sense in my opinion that Subaru gets scared because of course losing your senses would be terrifying rather than being scared of the witch at that moment. Also I think the scary sound effects are more general. Like they’ve used the same sound effects for witch and non-witch related things. So I think the sound effects are more of an “this is eerie or scary thing” than a “this is a witch thing”.

usually they have a post of its own for recommendations, before a new poll. no need to spam recommendations under videos that have nothing to do with it

Rockycitygirl

pretty sure he meant average and just misspelled

Rockycitygirl

Try no. 2 until they notice: Cyberpunk Edgerunners Parasyte The Maxim Overlord Like if you want them to include these in next poll 👍🏻

If you want a reason to binge, the third season is being released in October I believe so if you guys are planning to react to that you probably will need to combine some episodes. On a side note I remember watching this first in 2016 I can’t believe how much time has passed since then.

Roy Mathew

I feel with the amount of info you guys will be given over all the lives and the conspiracies it will generate you need to write this all down in notebook 😅

"Beako." The "Bea" from Beatrice, and "ko" means child/little girl in japanese. Basically, it's a cute nickname playing on the fact that she's a little girl. Of course, Beatrice not knowing Japanese doesn't get this at all.

Iriza

Rem and Ram is pronounced more like Remu and Ramu

Kai Kage

It's incredible just how many of your logical leaps of faith are correct, this is a show that for now gives you almost no information, yet you still manage to have an exelent averege
