I know it's 6 months late, but it is inferred that Alderp was the one who gave the body switching necklace to First Prince Jatice; its also why he was pushing for Darkness (Lalatina) to marry the prince. He had planned to switch bodies with the prince so that he could be wed to Darkness. (Its also implied he planned on switching with his son had that marriage arrangement went through).
