Eren's resolution brought about a temporary peace that lasted for many generations. But Eren did warn that the future he saw the fighting doesn't end. Just going around in a circle.

2024-08-03 19:28:12 +0000 UTCOh my god. It was a blast watching this with you. I kept crying throughout this two-parter. I loved the journey and discussions afterwards. Tbh, I never had the guts to watch this show alone, but I always wanted to. I initially subbed for Bangtan content, but now I'm trawling through your anime reactions as well. Thank you so much! I finally finished this, and I think there will be more rewatches in the future. There's just too much to unpack and find even after it ended. I'm really going to miss the cast, though. This ensemble of characters is just incredibly well thought-out! I never imagined the world-building would be this glorious going into this! Thank you again! ❤️

2024-06-04 19:00:27 +0000 UTCHalfway through and the moment the thingy spit Armin out, I realized that for all that time, it had it's tongue down Armin's throat. Armin was making out with it.. 😭 why is my brain like this? Lol I think it's trying to cope by injecting the worst kind of humor.. 😅 Also.. Me explaining to my mom about your channels: They are a wholesome Christian couple who watch shows I like and BTS. Meanwhile Steph: y'know maaaaaaybe just let it happen? Our peeps are fine~ 🤣 Damn Steph~ Brutal. Though I can't deny at one point of my life I would've completely agreed. My "humans are parasites so the world should end and wipe out a majority of us" phase back in 2012 when people were talking about it 😅 I was coco puffs like Eren then. Oof that ending.. wish they had a warning at the beginning not to watch when you have depression because yikes, this hopeless feeling is not good for mental health. I don't even have words or thoughts. I'm not even sure I'm happy I was right that Eren did all that to be the monster. But no, I still hate him and I still believe Eren chose this because as he said several times, be wanted to flatten everything and he wanted to kill everyone deep down. His copium was that it was for his friends but in the end he realized that he was what he always was. A killer.

2024-06-02 13:29:53 +0000 UTCI loved this ending of AoT! I agree that it was a relatively happy ending for the series. One series I think did really well with foreshadowing, comparable to AoT—is Tokyo Ghoul. I cried with you both during the scene with everyone working to keep the baby alive/keep the baby from falling off the cliff. 🙏💕

2024-06-02 03:37:26 +0000 UTCAbsolutely loved attack on Titan and i'm so happy that you guys were reacting to it in so much depth as you go along!! Just a little plug: my other fav anime is Monster - it's relatively old, but a total gem. It's so mind-boggling and explores some real-life issues.

2024-05-31 14:53:21 +0000 UTCAnd about why Ymir chose to or had to wait till Eren and Mikasa to let go, was they were the perfect example for Ymir. Their experience and personality together make up Ymir. Eren and Mikasa both went through hell and Eren did at some point become hateful and thirsty vengeance just like Ymir was and Mikasa was the undying devotion Ymir felt towards fritz or Mikasa represents the connection part of her. I think Ymir finally got to see and understand what true love or true connection was, when Eren (fritz figure) choose to sacrifice himself and accept his wrongdoings and Mikasa (Ymir figure) figured out that their love was true and then, she was able to let go because she was able to do the right thing and kill Eren. Basically they were the perfect recepie for her to see the difference between stock home syndrome and actual connection and understanding. This reason is a bit disconnected from the rest of the show, but I like because it showcases how human ymir was at the end of the day, that her hatred and twisted devotion to fritz was the reason this went on for 2000 years. But what put an end to that cycle for ymir was just desire for human connection. It's very personal and really childlike but very human reason.

2024-05-31 13:04:55 +0000 UTCWhat an incredible story! It’s been so fun and interesting to see your reactions to this show! I hope you guys do more AOT videos and maybe another video talking about the ending after you’ve had time to digest it more! I’ve loved seeing you guys go through this journey!🙏

2024-05-31 12:42:47 +0000 UTCI'm so thankful I decided to sub to y'all on Patreon. You guys are the sharpest reactors I've ever seen. You caught everything most other reactors missed - the fact that Eren tried over and over again for a different solution was something most missed and kept roasting him over. You also caught that the memories Armin and Eren's conversation was prior to the final battle. Many missed that during the reaction and get confused. My favorite part was when you both wept over the scene with the red-clothed baby. You both understood the themes, the moral dilemmas, the character development, and it was such a pleasure to rewatch the whole thing with you guys.

2024-05-31 06:59:28 +0000 UTCI would highly recommend checking out Invaderzz's videos on youtube about AOT. Particularly "This video will change how you see Eren" and "The final mystery of Attack on Titan," which are deep dives into the characters of Eren and Ymir respectively. Eren's video is also really helpful in clearing up any misunderstandings around the time paradox stuff surrounding him. Invaderzz gives a well researched and insightful interpretation of the themes and lessons Isayama might've intended to portray, and regardless of whether you end up agreeing or disagreeing with his conclusions, the videos are still very useful in understanding the complexities of AOT.

2024-05-31 06:58:42 +0000 UTCNot to be meam but I genuinely cannot even begin to imagine where you would have read this. AOT was written by Hajime Isayama, he was 19 when he started working on AOT around 2010. Death Note's manga came out in 2003 when Isayama was 12.

2024-05-31 06:48:39 +0000 UTCFun fact. The baby in red crying was voiced by the the voice actor for erens actual child. (And the baby and mom were actually seen in special 1. The pregnant woman that made eren stop and think about his own mother.) Eren is also a walking contradiction at heart. He is selfless for giving his life for his friends to live long and full lives. And selfish for the fact if they hadn't stopped him he would've gone through with 100% rumbling to create the world eren read in the books armin brought. And if ya think a little deep about it mikasa and Ymir are very similar. 2 girls who lost their parents and were enslaved in ways unique to them. Each fell in love with someone who could be considered a monster by most. And ultimately mikasa made the choice ymir couldn't which was to let go of her love (or more so put an end to his suffering and the suffering he may cause instead of being a silent enabler in a way)

2024-05-31 06:39:29 +0000 UTCHuh, No it’s not Aot was written by Isayama

2024-05-31 04:01:23 +0000 UTCIf my understanding is right, the reason the titans ceased to exist was because Ymir finally decided to let go of her immortal conscience, which gave Subjects of Ymir their titan powers. The reason she finally let go was because she found spiritual healing in seeing someone who went through something simillar to her but made a different choice (Ymir loved Fritz, and that love made her do things she regretted, like sacrifice herself for him while her children were still alive. Mikasa loved Eren, and that love COULD have made her do something she regretted, but in the end she fought that part of her and killed him even thought she loved him). After an unsurmountable amount of time, that was what it took for Ymir to let go and stop following King Fritz's orders. Eren didn't know ANY of this, all he knew is that if he did ALL of this, he would force Mikasa do to something that would convince Ymir to release the power of the titans.

2024-05-31 02:17:04 +0000 UTCThe manga artist for Attack on Titan is Hajime Isayama, and I would encourage you to now take a look at his past interviews to see what inspired him to create this piece of work. For example, he would talk about how his childhood experience of growing up on a farm inspired some of the themes in Attack on Titan. On a random note, Isayama is good friends with the manga artist of Vinland Saga, Makoto Yukimura, and you'll eventually see that Vinland Saga is just as well written as Attack on Titan.

2024-05-31 02:13:16 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! This is hands down one of the best series to come out in a long time. The language thing always stuck out to me too. I always thought it was because Paradis started over with no history of their past and having to start from scratchwith what they knew, while Marley was able to continually evolve. Idk, that was always my thought. But can't wait to see what you guys react to next!

2024-05-31 01:00:54 +0000 UTCi choose to see the ending in a more positive light and think that that child goes on to use the power in a positve way. when Ymir gained the ability she was running away and in fear of dying, she was also a slave. the child at the end is coming from a broken world, perhaps he chooses to use the power to rebuild?

2024-05-30 23:29:40 +0000 UTCWhat a journey man, its been really enjoyable! Btw, now that you finished, there's a scene in season 1, ep 11 (At the beginning) where Pixis talks with Eren about the wars pre Titan era, and says "If a powerful external threat were to appear, humanity would cease its wars and unite", watching it again feels way different than the first time!

2024-05-30 23:03:21 +0000 UTCphew y'all.... there were so many moments in this episode and the last one where reacted so similarly, I think it's just a human thing. Personal theory: All we know of Mikasa's headaches was that they started in childhood and both Armin and Eren knew about them. I think the moment that touched Ymir was when Mikasa chose Eren after he killed those men to save her. And then she started peeking into her head to try and make her follow her path.

2024-05-30 21:56:39 +0000 UTCAlso the foreshadowing is still being talked about to this day. I’ve recently come across TikTok or Reddit content dedicated to AOT foreshadowing and it’s actually wild what Isayama’s brain came up with. I recommend checking them out when you can
Brooklyn
2024-05-30 21:52:53 +0000 UTCAlthough I do agree Armin puts a lot of blame and responsibility on himself and that’s why he said he’ll meet Eren in hell, I also believe that Armin was simply shouldering the blame and burden so that he can give his best friend the smallest bit of comfort, when no other words or actions could. Armin basically saying that although he doesn’t understand the depths of what Eren is going through, he will still be there for him and love him regardless. Their friendship was heartbreakingly beautiful.

2024-05-30 21:49:36 +0000 UTCHonestly I prefer reactors who pause and hv discussions rather than reactors who talk over the show 🤷
aryan2k2
2024-05-30 21:41:08 +0000 UTCJust a small interpretation here, when Mikasa spoke to Ymir, we saw a "memory" of what Ymir truly wished it shouldve happened - letting King Fritz die and not sacrificing herself and her daughters. Mikasa did what she wasnt able to - overcome her blind devotion for Eren and do the right thing for both, killing him was an act of love (thats why she said she was sorry and was keeping the scarf/not forgetting Eren), smiling while doing it. Thats also why Eren said Mikasa was the true hero of the story and who Ymir was looking for. Someone to free her and someone to show her what true love/connection is, not just being used and mistreated.

2024-05-30 21:25:32 +0000 UTCCan't believe the journey is over, looking forward to the OVAs and OP reactions, as a longtime fan your insight has been really amazing. To answer your questions about Ymir, you might have forgotten because it's been a while, and her character makes a lot more sense on a rewatch, in S2 we're told in a flashback she was actually a pure titan for a really long time. She was an orphan on the street picked up by this cult of Eldian extremists who gave her the name "Ymir" and appointed her as the founder, and then sold her off to the Marley soldiers when push came to shove, she was then injected with the serum and roamed outside Wall Maria for 60 years or so, until, still as a Pure Titan, she stumbled on Reiner & co and ate their friend, then she became the Jaw. That explains why she could read the old language and also why she was so fixated on being true to herself, and encouraged Historia about it.
