Re:Zero S2 Episodes 17 & 18

I actually believe Puck is emilia’s actual dad. And if you go off the fact that Archie is her actual brother (archies eyes come from her dad who would have green eyes) and since later on you get hints on who her mom is (her eyes are blue) which green and blue make purple which are emilias eyes

ItsSimple

Right? 😂 I'm totally convinced now because he even looks like him! The eyes and how they looked wrinkled in anger. So many tiny hints to things I keep picking up that is making me question my theories I had and reforming them. I love/hate stories that do this lol

Chels

we know Betty is an artificial spirit, she refers to Puck as her brother (bubby in subtitles for some reason) and Echidna was "very involved with her birth", hmmm... Also the "words" that Puck had "flashbacks?" to in Frozen Bonds look very similar to the ones seen when Echidna told Subaru "I know" after he came back from the bunnies in the episode "the value of life" HHMMMM.....! PS: there actually were 9 sins irl, "The Seven Deadly Sins" is a more "modern interpretation" that took place long ago so the 2 sins are now forgotten to the general public, much like Pandora herself PS2: Pandora is probably the Admin of the "Layers" XD

Hombredecultura

Same here, I learn something new every rewatch XD

Hombredecultura

Archi being puck is something I never considered 🤯

Chels

two half elfs results in the same. But yes. We can see that witches dont have to be elfs.

butcher

[THIS IS NOT A SPOILER, BUT A REMINDER] Just want to remind you guys, since I see you guys keep mixing up stuff. (Either u forgot about it or not) 1. Satella and Emillia is both half-elf. If Satella is Emilia mom, wouldn't that make Emilia less than half-elf. 2. Someone that becomes a Witch doesn't mean that the person is an elf. They could just be a human or other race. (You can saw all of the witches in witch party that some of them doesn't have elf ear)

Tatsuke44

isn't that flashback from 400 years ago already?

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

Cut content for this episode: It was implied in the novel that the lower spirits were sent by Pandora all along to get Emilia to the Seal. As for your question about how Betelgeuse got his arm back, Pandora explained it just on her previous line "I've sent the noisy young man away, the result of his actions as well" since she rewrote the "script" of the current present into a present without his presence, whatever he did to Betelgeuse also got nullified

Araragi Senpai

As someone mention historically there was more than 7 sins, 9 in total but not all at once. in the 13th century the sins list was revised which is why we know the 7 we know today. Normally in pop media the 7 is only reference, but the author of Re:Zero went beyond and did his homework that he could technically add more. It's a giant plot twist from the norm. Thus Vanity.

DrDrae3000

In Christian doctrine there used to be 9 deadly sins until several hundred years ago the pope said that to of them vanity and melancholy were too similar to others and rolled them in to the others leaving is with the more commonly known 7 deadly sins

Pandora seems to be the strongest entity to me in Rezero from her showings in this episode. Also she is the biggest mystery as she got introduced out of nowhere, and it seems to me that non of the witches know of her. I wonder what’s her motives, and how will she move the plot in the future and her relevance.

Devilmaycry- Joker

Just wanna say, ya'lls anime roster is stacked right now with good worldbuilding and thoughtful writing. Re:Zero, Stein's Gate, Hunter x Hunter, Dandadan??? Add a new season of Mushoku Tensei (I wish!) and it'd be SO good.

Renegade

Also because she's a spirit user, and contracts are made through promises.

Renegade

Lets gooo been waiting all week for this

Zachary Ngo

More like Regulus Corny-ass, huh, huh?

Steven

So fun fact when geuse opened the sloth witch factor he said forgive me flugel (or however its spelled) which is who the big tree where they fought the white whale was named after

_Merry Christmas 🥳 and also don’t forget to bring tissue for next episodes 😔 _Ryuzu’s backstory is really important for not just this season but later as well 👍 _Explaining without Spoilers: In the episode Fortuna explained she is Emilia’s aunt (father side) and Emilia is half Elf which means Emilia’s mother is Human so it can’t be Satella. Also event of which of envy happened 400 years ago while Emilia was frozen for 100 + 7-8 years after before she meet Subaru, it is almost impossible for Emilia and Satella to have close relationship.

Mohammad Bemana

My head cannon is that, because Geuse knew Emilias parents, he cries on behalf of the parents if that makes sense. Like, one of your siblings sees your kids 10 years older all healthy after whatever situation would match there's that would warrant it, I'm guessing he was extremely close. He does love to let the waterworks flow, but I don't think it was cult related. Also, since we know now Emilia's father was an elf with silver hair, the mother is the odd factor - she should not be elf at all since Emilia's whole shtick is that she's half - and they wouldn't have silver hair either (I mean they could still I guess but I doubt it). I still think Emilia is past satella or something with some weird time travel shenanigans

You guys are coming up with some fascinating theories.. some I've never considered. Especially in regards to Pandora. Pandora writing the script and the theory that Subaru with his Return by Death was brought to this world as a foil to her power is a really cool theory. I particularly liked your theory on Pandora's Box in regards to the sins. Think about it.. The Seal in the forest could definitely be Pandora's Box that if opened could unleash evil upon the world. Then look at the current state of the world in terms of Satella. According to the history books, she consumed the other witches right? You could interpret that as Satella uniting all the sins/evil of the world to herself thus becoming the greatest evil of the world. And she has been sealed away too right? Hmmmm a repeated cycle of history where evil needs to be sealed away? There's too many coincidences and parallels to Pandora, so you might be onto something with the whole theory of Pandora being the one who brought the witch factors to this world. It all sounds like one massive loop where history will keep repeating itself. The world constantly being brought to this state of potentially being destroyed. Fascinating stuff. The author of Re:Zero I swear is a mad man.

Reuben Filimaua

Just a thought, but there are only seven sins in our world, but this is an isekai, they may have more sins than we do. There may even be more than eight sins... Assuming vanity is a sin, that is... I mean, that dress she was rocking was pretty cute. And those fluffy brows? Oh man, bushy brow sensei would approve!

Iriza

1. Regulus Corneas appeared in early ep 1 season 2 2. The reason why Emilia value promises so much because Mother Fortuna. Remember Subaru broke his promise to not went to the castle but he still going there then causing the ruckus in the first season 3. Merry Christmas ! And Happy Holidays, folks !

Wasabi tobiko

I never thought about the parallel between Echidna and Mother Fortuna, that's a good observation!

D B

Regarding Puck, I don't know more than you guys but I don't think it could be Fortuna, as in the past Puck talked about Satella as if he knew her (thus 400 years ago ?). And in general, as if he was very old. But maybe Fortuna's spirit merged with that preexisting great spirit or something.

Fabien

Wow! Merry Christmas!

Renegade

Nice Nagato pfp btw we should get them to watch Haruhi

Marco Nodo

Ohhh, I didn't know that. Dammit, now the theories Wes and Steph are going to spin with this will get even crazier. 😂

Peter Butchens

Just a heads up since it looks like you don't know: Vanity (or Vainglory) used to be an actual sin, in fact, there were initially 8 sins; Pride, Sloth, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, VANITY and TRISTITIA (meaning Sorrow, Despair...) but later on, the Church and the Christians of the time decided to remove Vanity for being too redundant with Pride and Despair was merged into Sloth, and they then added ENVY... Curious, right?

Marco Nodo

Merry Christmas! Oh boy and what a Christmas it will be. After the Rosvaal reveal and the Tea Parties, this part was what I was the most curious about, as to how your reaction would be. Geuse 😭- I think you're read too much into him (which I can't blame you since we only knew the crazy Betelgeuse). I thought he was just very emotional. And his reactions were because of something that happened with Emilia's parents (which he seemed to know), and that reminded him of something that happened in the past? They also said she looked like her mom a lot, and perhaps that triggered a memory (and he had not seen her before) Though I'm not too sure here. That's just how I interpreted it. 34:57 - Wait you don't think he's that crazy? Well okay, maybe not crazier. But I find him far more creepy than the gluttony guy when they appeared. Like gluttony guy being more along a wild beast, whereas greed guy seems more like a petulant, cruel child. The kind that hurts his own pets for fun. That's the vibe I got from him. 57:17 Wait, black serpent... was that the third big mabeast? 1:10:20 I interpreted "this time" that the witches cult tried to do that before, but failed, and now they're trying again.

Peter Butchens

Merry Christmas Everyone, & Happy Holidays! Wes/Steph, Thanks for Blessing Us with Uploads even during the Holiday Season! Hope you & your family has a wonderful time to remember! 🙏🏻
