Honestly, I know to most people re:zero's favorite episodes are usually episode 15 or 18 of season 1, but for me the Ram confession just blows everything else out of the water.

Garf can transform for a long time but now chooses not to cause he doesn't like to kill, that's why Subaru told him to stop hiding behind his blood. Also Elsa seem to have a thing for young males since the only times she's fallen in love was with ****** and Garfield XD. While Ram is highly susceptible to Stockholm syndrome since she has only fallen in love with ****** and Rosswaal XD

It doesn’t seem to me that garf has any romantic feelings towards mimi, so I’m not worried about them being together. Either way the creepier couple potential is still Ram and Roswaal to me. He literally raised her and Rem after what happened to their village.

Personally even though Ram is in love with him I don’t think it’ll turn to an relationship and I like how they acknowledge that Ram can’t help how she feels I also think she will fall in love with Garfiel eventually so it doesn’t really bother me that much in the long run

Yeah, that's the case with a lot of series. Usually, things get changed or cut depending on how big or complex the source material is, as well as how much time, money, and effort the studio wants to invest in the series. That’s not something unique to Re:Zero. It’s a fine line between explaining something, adding context, or outright spoiling it. I’d really appreciate it if some people (just a few - it’s nothing against the community overall) could be a bit more considerate or at least include a spoiler warning when discussing source material. Your second comment is a perfect example of what I meant by, “This is missing in the anime version.” I’m pretty sure some people were talking about Al in the comments (spoilering), since he got almost no screen time but apparently played a bigger role in the source material. Now it seems like they’re bringing him back in Season 3 (I haven’t seen it yet), and we’re finally going to see more about him. Just because the anime isn’t following the source material’s order doesn’t mean it can’t still be a spoiler. I don’t even mind the occasional spoiler - it’s partially my own fault or just the risk I take when reading comments. It happens with other shows too, but with this one, it felt like spoilers were happening on a regular basis, almost every week. (again could just be my personal perception, since I went into it blind after Season 1.) Funny enough, a few comments below mine, someone had already deleted an apparently spoiler-comment. It did make me laugh a bit, to be honest. :D

And that example which i presented doesnt include a lot of cut content, which should be important and they somehow left it out of anime. Like with Aldebarans character - we dont know will they ever go back to include this cut content in anime in future seasons, like they did with him in S3

The thing with ReZero is - it has a huge fanbase, but because of unnecessary hate S1 got and because of how bad S2s production was, it provokes fans to fight and defend this amazing story, which is diluted in anime due bad direction choices and scuffed presentation of it. For example in source material S2s content answers most answers from S1 while also adding more intersting mystery and setting up the whole ReZero world going onward. In anime answers are shown mostly very vague/poorly leaving viewer confused all the time. Thats why fans are trying to correct viewers or add more info. Not defending people who outright spoil things just because they are emotionally dumb

I thought you were going to watch the last 3 eps this week. The next one is the end of season 2. And the 1st of season 3 lasts 1 hour and a half ! But 2 eps next week would be awesome! These two episodes are intense and give a lot of information to process. It's heartwarming that Betty is freed from her endless wait. But don't take the words brother, sister or whatever too literally ;). Betty just sees Puck as a big brother. Spirits have no “blood” family. There's a theory that Minerva may be Emilia's mother (which is still unknown to this day). It's a thought I had too while watching Minerva's words and reactions to Emilia in this ep. But it's only a theory.

What you were saying about the vampire spoiler - I don’t know if it’s just me, but the Re:Zero comments are by far the most spoiler-heavy comments of any show I’ve seen here so far. That’s why I literally stopped reading them a while ago. I get it: people love the show, have already seen the anime, read the manga/novels, and want to talk about it. But jeez, some should be a bit more careful. At some point, comments literally started with, “This is not a spoiler,” or “This is missing in the anime version,” and of course, they were spoilers, lol. Just like in this case, where you made some guesses or theories - as you should in your reactions - and people indirectly (or probably even directly sometimes) confirmed them. I will never understand why they do that. Well, enough of that. It’s obviously not your fault - your reactions are great, keep it up! I was just a bit frustrated about it since I usually like to read the comments a lot. Amazing second season! The last few episodes were beautiful. I can’t wait for the finale next week, and then season 3, of course!

Well Betty can't be with other spirits since she's bound by contract to stay in the library, great spirits like her and puck that can talk are pretty rare and lesser spirits are just shiny magical balls of light (Emilia's for example) not really companions. Also the point was for Betty to chose for herself that person for which she stayed 400 years waiting, she can choose by herself but choosing herself to be that person doesn't make a lot of sense, 400 years of agony of wait to chose herself ? Why not do it at the beginning and avoid 400 years of wait ? Nah the point is that she thinks her mother Echidna is absolute her commandes are absolute, but with this episode Subaru begs her to make her own choice for the first time which she makes and is major character development for her who would rather wait in agony than break the contract of her beloved mother echidna. P-S : Betty waited 400 years all alone without asking help of anyone so she's the last person to seek help from others, on the contrary it's proof that she is independent as a person and it's pretty obvious and clear from her character alone that she's not a sociable person anyways, it's just that she loves echidna to such a level that she would do anything she asks of her even waiting for a perfect stranger.

Hmm during her life Elsa massacred a lot of people in a gruesome way, including our boy Subaru in different timelines (?), and Emilia, and Felt... and she clearly enjoyed it a lot. Idk if you can only blame her childhood trauma or her vampire nature for becoming like that.

I also thought it was more "common knowledge" since it gets used in movies and stuff every now and then. I have no clue how applicable it is in real life. By "applicable," I mean how "easy" (or even useful) it would be to intentionally cause an explosion on the spot as a weapon in a fight. However, with the right concentration and circumstances, the fine flour dust/particles in the air can burn so fast that it literally creates an explosion.

I knew about it, I think I've seen it in another anime, actually, but I can't remember which one... Maybe Dr.Stone(d) they did something similar? But I feel I've known about dust explosions for a lot longer than that... My other guess is Naruto, maybe during the chuunin trials... It bothers me that I can't remember, lol.

That's true, but it was also actually a happy moment for ram. For us, it's tragic, sure, but from Ram's perspective, she just confessed her feelings, and freed Roswaal from the book that drove him to madness. She was willing, and probably even expecting, to die. She just wanted to free him, and if she died succeeding in that, I think that alone would've made her happy in the end. Especially since her memories of Rem are gone. She really had no other attachments in life.

As for all the voice lines in the third trial - I don't even want to think about if all of this was foreshadowing😅 (like futures Subaru has yet to reset) or just Echidna messing with Emilia. 14:05 Why did she say "who is this"? Wasn't this echidna's coffin?? 32:20 Given our past experiences with Elsa, I don't fully trust that she's dead either. Heck, I don't even trust that she's a vampire, and like the "sister "thing she's saying all that just to mess with Garf or justify her own psycho behaviour.

TRIVIA to what you said at 52:25 Betty called her Han-ma (半魔). Han (半) means half. But that "ma" (魔) can have nuanced meanings depending on what you connect it with. Usually it's something magical or something related to the spirit world. And while not necessarily malicious, often demonic. For example, you already know about the Ma-juu (魔獣), which is our "Ma" and "Juu" (獣) which means beast. So like Spirit Beast or Demon beast. We also have the classic "Ma-hou-tsukai" (魔法使い), too, which is literal Spirit/Magic-Law-user, often translated as "magician" (that "user" is gender neural). That is an example where it is more neutral. Then we have something that is often used in this show: Ma-jou (魔女) which uses "Ma" again; and "Jou" (女) which means female. So literally Magic Girl/Evil Spirit Female, but better translated as "witch" - that word has no "male" counterpart though, at least none that I can think of. The Hector guy that appeared in the flashback got called "Ma-jin" (魔神) by Roswaal, that "jin" (神) is something used when referring to deities or shrines. Majin can mean evil spirit deity, demon god, or in a more biblical sense: devil. So I wouldn't "translate" it as Warlock - but I can see it as being "interpreted" that way, as this can have many meanings which is up to the reader 😋 Which brings me to my point, I think the author used that word on purpose to give lots of room for interpretation as to what this means in regards with Emilia (or when he introduced Hector). So feel free to speculate even more now if it means half witch or half devil, or half ma-beast, or or or 🤣 (or my guess, which is just Betty being salty and wanting to insult her)

Just to clarify something with Roswal, he didn't fail the trial. He wasn't even allowed to take it. Those that enter the grave without the qualifications are severely hurt. It's how he got all bandaged up was by trying to take the trial when he didn't have the right. So he never even started the first trial

I found it interesting that lots of reactor have no idea what was Subaru trying to do lol What he wanted to try was called Dust Explosion, which may have luckily not happened in the United States, but it has happened in Japan and Taiwan. At a large-scale event in Taiwan less than ten years ago, because the organizer used a large amount of corn flour to create stage effects, the dust concentration in the air was too high and was ignited by stage lights or other fire sources, resulting in a large-scale explosion. As a result, 15 people were killed and 498 injured, many of whom required long-term treatment for burns. I hope more people will know this knowledge, and if you see this on a stage one day, please stay away as soon as possible.

It's not that Roswaal couldn't clear the trial, he didn't have the qualification of having mixed blood so he couldn't even attempt it. He was damaged by some sort of spell that hurts someone using their own gate

As for the song that plays at the end of episode 23, its name is "What You Don't Know", it is an insert song sang Ram's voice actress, and if you read the translated lyrics it's more melancholic rather than happy. It's love confession combined with acknowledgement that the other person won't understand, because he is too obsessed with something else.
