2024-10-31 23:06:18 +0000 UTCoh and regarding the coach hitting them, it's not uncommon for coaches to do so in Asian countries, and it is implied that he does hit them with the line Shirabu says at the beginning, but it's not confirmed! he is super strict on them though and yells at them a lot 😭

2024-10-31 22:54:37 +0000 UTCokay, so basically what happened was that Tsukki kept annoying Shirabu with the one touches, and since Shirabu was annoyed and a little panicked by the end of the set, he tossed too close to the net and made it harder for Ushijima to spike, hence Tsukki was able to block him. It was kind of a mistake on Shirabu's end because his sets are usually consistent and don't waver. they cut out a bit to Shirabu's backstory from the manga though. he basically studied his ass off to go to Shiratorizawa on academic merit, and he's the only player on the team that's not there on a sports scholarship. what he means is that while he is a good player, he doesn't want the spotlight. he wants to draw out Ushijima's talent to the best of his ability instead, so all the spotlight is on Ushijima/the hitters, which is why he's starting over Semi (#3, gray hair, their former starting setter and now pinch server). they elaborate more on this and both of their characters in the manga, but we do get mentions of it, you'll see!

You will see more Shiratorizawa back stories and they're all so good! not that every one else's haven't been but it's so... anyways thanks again!
