2025-04-01 20:37:29 +0000 UTC"What the visuals made me expect versus what the album actually sounds like" Yes, this is a common practice in Kpop (and all music, if you really think about it). I believe one of the Rise of Bangtan episodes touches on this as well, but the point of kpop "title tracks" (the songs that get MVs) is to grab the public's attention. Flashy choreography, vibrant hairstyles, standout wardrobe. It's all a tool to grab hold of the GP's interest. The hope/marketing tactic for Kpop is to parlay that interest into album (purchases and) exploration. Most times, the title track acts as "bait" to get people to listen to a group's "real" music which is found on their albums. That's where most groups will really really show off their abilities and explore various genres (which either compliments the sound/style of their title track or (more often than not) is a completely different style, but just as good).

It really gives you this sense of hunger in their work, and how much of their effort/souls they poured out thinking they HAD to make this be their next big break. It’d take time for their efforts to finally pay off.

So it isn’t on Spotify, etc. And I feel like you guys hit the nail on the head with your analysis, your thoughts, etc. BTS cared so deeply about songwriting and music from the jump, and I think that’s what’s made their music as timeless as it is. The looks may be “outdated,” but the quality holds strong. And they’ve always said they pride themselves in their sincerity/authenticity, and it’s incredible to see how that’s been true since their debut.

There's always more with this group lmfao💀

If you look closely at the album cover, under the red letters you can see the full words written out in a white/silver/grayish colour! So glad this helped you appreciate their early music so much more and that you're doing Hidden tracks!! 🩷 their ENTIRE discography is a work of art, personally one of the strongest discographies in the entire music industry world wide in my opinion. They've always been authentically themselves from debut and even before that! Their messages and core values ave always stayed the same 🫶🏼 I can't pick faves when it comes to anything in life really and that's especially true when it comes to bts' music, however I'm very excited because the next album as some of my fave B-side tracks that are SEVERELY underappreciated!! ALSO, if you're wondering, yes their "we are bulletproof part 2" is the official first released song in that series however there IS a part 1! It was released pre-debut on sound cloud for free (I'm pretty sure, someone fact check me if I'm wrong lol). They did end up performing it once after debut too! I think they only ever did it once anyway. A group of teens from a small company encouraging kids to go against the cultural norm was always going to cause pushback from the adults and public. Even later in their career when they were more successful, they still received pushback from the government for certain songs that went against the Korean social norms.
