2025-04-09 14:50:54 +0000 UTCBesides the insane fact that Atsumu is precise enough to do the pin-point set that is needed for the minus temp (you basically set right to the palm of the hitter's hand), his brother is hitting the set WHILE LOOKING AT IT. Hinata had was unable to follow it and had to close his eyes and swing completely blind, trusting Kageyama would set it where he needed to, but Osamu (the twin brother with indigo hair) actually has the skills/reflexes to hit it with his eyes open.

In professional plays, men’s backrow attacks from the right is so effective that it renders the slide attack pointless. But women’s backrow attacks are much weaker, so the slide is still very effective in comparison. The Japanese national women’s volleyball team actually runs the slide a lot, and you can see that even in the Olympics. (It looks way less dramatic in real life though, obviously.) Basically, professional men’s volleyball is like Shiratorizawa/Ushijima - raw power is everything, while women’s volleyball is more like Karasuno/Hinata - you use skills and tactics to compensate your lack of physical strength/height. This is why women’s volleyball is so much more fun to watch.
