I've seen a lot of people asking You guys should do a poll about this being watched in Dub I think this one's better dubbed they have such good voice actors for English dub.

2025-06-01 22:16:14 +0000 UTCI hate to be a party-pooper, but I'm kinda fluent in Japanese, and...the Japanese dub is an absolute disaster...100% of the Cyberpunk slang gets lost in the Japanese dialogues, there is no nuance and the way the characters speak sound very goofy, like usual when Japaneses try to sound "Western" when dubbing (If you've ever watched a Western movie/show dubbed in Japanese, you'll know what I mean). But I guess if you don't understand a word of Japanese, you won't notice anything... "Corpo", "Choom", "Chrome"...you see all these Cyberpunk-lore-accurate words in the phone calls but none of the characters ever pronunce them in the Japanese dub. Like I said, 100% of the original slang gets lost. But the weirdest thing about this production is that the Japanese audio was officially recorded first, and yet the anime shows the english dialogues set on the phone calls screens in perfectly accurate Cyberpunk slang, as if the Polish writers wrote all the english dialogues of the story beforehand and sent them to studio Trigger prior to the production. So it shows they intended this anime to be experienced in english. They probably let Trigger set the Japanese dub as official because they know weeaboos love having Japanese blasted in their ears. It's the same reason why Chinese animation studios produce their donghuas (Chinese word for anime) in Chinese yet let Japaneses dub over it because they know retarded weebs will prefer to watch it in Japanese...And I admit this really pisses me off...

When I was a kid we used to run while going to school because there was a hobo jerking off on the way to school literally every morning lmao. Shit like this has always happened, and will always happen. It has nothing to do with a pornified demoralization of society or some TikTok-induced social contagion. Heck, even Diogenes of Sinope was known for regularly masturbating in public in ancient Greece and never got arrested for it, and that was almost 3000 years ago now. Although I do understand where you're coming from about mainstream porn streaming services, especially when you know the kind of criminal organizations that run behind it, but I think your conclusion is a bit of a reach.

When I was a kid, porn sites were all there was. And I had to explicitly look for it to see it. Now kids are being exposed to content with a sexual connotation on TikTok and social media... I wouldn't be surprised if jacking off on the street in some areas will be normal by 2077...

Also quick dictionary: Choom- Friend Gonk- Idiot Eddies- Euro Dollars Ennies- Pennies BD- Brain Dance Preem- Premium (awesome) Nova - awesome but with enthusiasm Flatline - Die Delta - To leave ICE - Is like a firewall for data I don't think the rest of the words are used enough to demand a definition at this point.

2025-05-30 05:18:46 +0000 UTCI'd say the only advantage EN dub has other than the obvious first language issue, is the slangs (choom, nova, etc.), which I find them kinda trying too hard at times (short-circ) and it is a non-issue unless you are gonna communicate with CP2077 fans. The JP acting is slightly better but the EN is also pretty good. And EN is not the original. the original author only gave the studio the draft/outlines and a lot of things were changed and written by the studio.
