So it's normal you feel it would have spoiled in the first few eps, because what you see in the first eps is different (it's still the same intro tho). That aside, considering you seem to like history, I thought you would have freaked out about the lesson mentioning "the defeat of Trafalgar" or "Elisabeth III". Mentioning that defeat at Trafalgar (irl it was a major naval victory during the Napoleonic wars, which prevented Napoleon's planned invasion of Britain), suggests that aside from the failed American Revolution, something different happened later during the Napoleonic wars too.
