Given how stubborn and determined we know Gon has always been, this is magnitudes higher, there's no limit what he'd do! Pouf is so much of a drama queen, he bought enough time to be separated himself. Zeno was never going to help Netero fight the King. Even if so, he'd only get in his way given how outmatched in power he is. Zeno making sure his nen was completely neutral was respect and probably out of fear of the King.

2025-09-19 21:39:07 +0000 UTCManga actually had a timer telling us how much time passed from mission start. Shoot fell and Knuckle revealed himself around the 22~26 second mark iirc. A lot of scenes are happening concurrently or being elongated like Pouf's breakdown or the boys watching the king leave.

2025-09-18 19:04:17 +0000 UTCI like how Togashi doesn't immediately jumps to some crucial fights (like Meruem vs Netero), but instead prolongs the tension through giving insight into a lesser (but still important to the story and character development) battles. This also makes us to see and realised the overall insane scales of this mission where, for example, Yupi does such great damage for less than 10 seconds which is horrifying. Both sides are such skilled warriors (having different set of talents and strategies) that this part of the story had to be told by tiniest periods of time, otherwise depicting only action without any narration (either narrator's explanations or inner monologues) we wouldn't understand the meaning of so many nuanced decisions made by both sides. I really think that inexperienced writers should study Chimera Ants arc for understanding how properly to tell the story filled with smart characters and heavy action segments. This rocks so much! Loved it, and ready to dive on a deeper level of this journey!
