I had an idea for a power that let you take on the traits and abilities of animals you study, hunt, and kill for a magical beast hunter. With how weird all the creatures in this world are you could get quite the repertoire. Also this isn't covered in the show and isn't relevant, but Nen is also a spectrum. You can have a weird range of proficiency. You could be between categories or leap over them in competence. For example Gon is pure Enhancer, but Killua is right in the middle of Enhancer and Transmuter. You could easily be between categories and have equal proficiency between them. (:

So I was critical of this arc - how drawn out it was (and I still am! Like fight with bat and owl was unnecessary and some parts could've been faster paced especially if you are watching it like Wes and Steph and me - 2 ep per week) but pay off is incredbile at the end of this arc. Probably my favourite arc in all of shonen despite it flaws.
