Simon used to film for JJ, run his merch shop and was even sitting in the background of his early game play videos, just chilling and watching, not commenting or anything. Lmao Incredible glow up for him. I discovered them a few years ago, I had been a HUGE fan of Markiplier for years and years and was basically only watching him but one day, I felt a tad bored and wanted to watch something new and I seen that Sidemen video where they can't move their hands from the table? Where JJ pees on Ethan and Josh. Immediately thought they were entertaining and very ballsy. And thought about how unique and interesting it was to see a GROUP do challenges and play hide and seek and whatnot so I got hooked on them because of the challenges and kid games and turning board games into real life stuff, etc. I had no idea who they were or how big they were or anything but I've been hooked ever since and haven't watched poor Markiplier in about a year now. Lmao

2025-12-29 12:18:06 +0000 UTC😅😅🤣My introduction to sidemen is pretty crazy It was the summer vacation of 2021 and I was still in high school and I remember telling my friend at the time that I'm gonna be bored this holiday and he was like he just watches a group called Sidemen on YouTube for fun so I also decided to check them out and I swear when I say it was love at first sight😍😍 Binged watched all their videos that summer then I started watching Sidemen Sundays and funny enough in 2023 I was like eyy I don't wanna watch sidemen alone, So I decided to search sidemen reactions and the first channel that popped up was y'all and I've been a fan ever since Crazy😅 Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦

Then I started watching him play horror games with JJ and sometimes they’d have Simon in the corner of the room watching them play lol. I then started watching them both religiously and saw Simon progress from JJ’s cameraman into a full blown YouTuber and watched the boys form into the group and all. I’m so happy they managed to stick around even when times were rough and they almost went separate ways. I’m happy to have supported some great people over the years, and they are the reason I eventually stumbled on y’all’s channel and am happy to support some more great people!

2025-08-16 22:31:44 +0000 UTCMy intro to them was basically my mum banned me from watching football back in Nigeria because she deems it at a boys sport and I would always get punished for watching it alone without my dad so she was so angry she banned me from watching it. I then went on YouTube which was also tricky because we mainly used phone data which was a lot of money so basically I searched football on YouTube and discovered videos like “death in football or sad moments in football”. Stuff like that and then I also discovered Dan cutting, f2 freestylers and then the Sidemen football videos but I didnt register that they were like individual channels and would just watch them play football in secret just to watch some football and watch what looked like authentic friendships because I was also not allowed to leave the house and interact with other people so yeah it was like gold for me discovering them. Then after boarding school I rediscovered them but mainly as the sidemen brand and channel then I binged watch all thier videos both group and individual lol.

I love them so much they have been my entertainers and companions of life virtually

2025-08-15 23:19:41 +0000 UTCWith guests that appear on sdmn these days, like 80 percent of the guests come from one of the sidemen being quite familiar with them, and then eventually the rest of the group get to know them. Ginge, and danny were both close with simon first, same with viz and ellum. Marlon was filiming irl streams meeting people like simon and jj. Lazar and lachlan were friends with vik from 2013 ish times, etc. But then theres people that the sdmn might have got to know with other mutual friends. I know that chrismd was the one to bring arthur and george into the main uk yt scene; it helps that chrismd has one of the biggest solo channels in the uk outside of the sidemen's solo channels.
