Marianne was originally a knight of a round under Charles and helped fight for him prior to him becoming Emperor, and she went on to become his 5th consort/wife.

2026-02-05 10:33:51 +0000 UTCI think you guys did a good job understanding this part of the show. Most reactors I watched get lost in this part (the same thing happened to me on my first watch). I think the reason is that the show assumes that you already have a general idea of Carl Jung's ideas and concepts. I think they could have introduced and explained them a bit earlier on, but maybe they didn't have enough time since the number of episodes was set, or maybe they wanted it to be a little confusing... hard to say! Fun fact: The voice actor of Lelouch also voiced the main character in Persona 5, a video game that also has an Anime adaptation, and it goes in depth with all of Carl Jung's concepts: Collective Unconscious, Personas (Masks), Shadows. That game was what actually made me understand this part of the show better. And I always found it amusing that the same VA ended up being the MC for two series that rely heavily on Carl Jung concepts.
