Patreon exclusive story -- September 2025: voting time!
Added 2025-09-06 10:03:30 +0000 UTCHello hi hello! It's time once again to vote for the monthly exclusive :)
Here's your usual reminder:
Each month, the patrons in the Fledgling and Young Bird tiers get to put forward prompts for the monthly exclusive. The prompts are then voted on by the Hatchling, Fledgling, and Young Bird patrons (meaning, y'all who're reading this), with the Fledgling and Young Bird patrons getting two votes (there'll be a separate poll for their second vote); the prompt that gets the most votes will get written out as a short story. (In case of a tie, I'll pick.)
This month, we have four prompts to choose from:
The Engagement: A Prince and Princess are arranged to be married. This makes the Princess unhappy, because she doesn't want to marry a Prince. This makes the Prince unhappy, because SHE doesn't want to BE a Prince. Will they figure it out?
Fae Attorney: When a fae princess is falsely accused of a crime, she must select a mortal champion to represent her at trial against her accuser’s champion—a legendary knight plucked from Earth’s Middle Ages. Luckily, there seems to be a tournament of knights currently ongoing at a park in one of Earth’s largest cities. The winner is doubtless the correct choice—skill at arms is the only logical metric by which to select legal representation. Meanwhile, a New York City public defense attorney is looking forward to his LARP group’s upcoming tournament arc. And if he crossplays as a lady paladin, and has been growing out his hair and remaining clean-shaven for months so he could better embody his character, that’s just good roleplaying, right?
Egging It Out in 80 Days: An egg working at a senior center finds out one of the patrons is not entirely human, and this gives them a chance to get a glimpse into the future, where they're an old woman. They also learn they have a grandchild(or not) that's also an egg and recently came to them for help or advice. What will the egg say and can they help?
Transadoon: A young man, wandering in the fog in the Scottish highlands, comes across a footbridge. When he finally emerges from the thick fog and reaches a town, he sees a shop window and realizes he is now a woman. Talking to townspeople, he learns he has exactly one week to cross back across the bridge before the water in the river below it rises and makes crossing impossible. He (now she) also finds this town is one in which men and women are equal. At the end of the week, will they sacrifice their male privilege and their manhood and stay in Transadoon, or will they cross back to their previous life (and gender)?
Four good prompts! Now, vote for your favourite: the poll is here behind this link, and it will close automatically three days from now, at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 9th. Hard deadline, so don't be late!
And thank you all for your support :)
