As far as it's been revealed. she's a demonic scientist who's in possession of a certain formula that she doesn't want to fall into the wrong hands. What does she have to do with BG? Well, there's the whole reasoning behind Nova obtaining the powers that transform her into BG as well as a certain bit of the initial BG costume on Raven. Pretty obvious what it is.
