trying to survive this looong summer
Added 2025-07-18 06:05:16 +0000 UTCTime to write some hard lines. Ugh.
First of all, I’ve been missing for about ten days. I apologise.
The reason of my absence is that the goal of getting my son to play on his own for at least one or two hours a day turned out to be completely unrealistic. I’m mentally overwhelmed because I spend twenty-four hours a day, every day, with him. My tour de force usually starts from 7am and ends at 9.30pm. Some days are good, some are bad. But I rarely get to spend even half an hour for myself… and "for myself" means drawing. I’m not the kind of mother who devotes all of her life to her child, so I’m a bit on the edge.
I didn’t manage to sign him up for summer camp in time, so instead of the whole month of July, he’s going for only two weeks (the second one will start soon). My boyfriend helps as much as he can, but unfortunately, it’s not enough to really let me get some work done; his mother, on the other hand, would be more than happy to help, but she lives quite far away from us, so she can’t be the daily presence I’d need in order to work properly.
This post is basically here to tell you that I hope to:
find a babysitter soon
coordinate with his grandmother so that she can be with us at least a couple of days a week
I’m keeping track of all the missed posts and I hope to catch up on them as soon as I can
I hope to see you all again here in September (when school will start again), but I totally understand if you decide to unsubscribe.
On the bright side, let me scream that I saw Iron Maiden live last Sunday! What a blast!
Our son was supposed to come with us, but in the end he chose to stay home with his grandma. We were a bit sad that he didn’t live this experience, but we got to spend our first ALMOST 24 HOURS ALONE since he was born, 4 years ago! Incredible!
Even though I left my earplugs in the car, even though there were so many people that I only managed to see Bruce Dickinson and Eddie twice (all the other members of the band were completely hidden from me) , even though I spent the last three songs nauseous and with a stabbing back pain (I even threw up on the way back to the car)… it was awesome.

Life happens and it's more than understandable! Even if it takes a while, it'll be alright! We can expect you back in September and that'll be worth it! Hopefully you find your balance with your son and the time you need to work! I hope you do well and it's awesome you got to see Iron Maiden! I know I'm definitely sticking around! ❤️
