Yugioh Gx Alice: Homecoming 2 Part 7

-The Next Day-

“Huh, you sure can eat,” Axel said, watching Alice eat all the food that Blair and Alexis brought her to eat for lunch.

“It’s good food, what can I say,” Alice said. After waking up this morning she was famished. It felt like she hadn’t eaten in days, so when Alexis and Blair both brought her lunches, she started eating, no questions asked.

“… Are you sure that you don’t want any?” Alice said, offering some of the food to him.

“Thanks, but I’m good, and I doubt that they would let you,” he said looking at Alexis and Blair who were staring daggers into him right now.

“I have to thank you for such a great duel last night. True you kidnaped my sister, but Hassleberry said when he went back the was a security net to catch her if she fell. Though I would have preferred that you ask me directly next time. Though it might have to be a while since that duel completely wiped me out. My legs are still numb. …Oh, why were you so insistent in the first place to duel me?”

“I wanted to see if you lived up to the rumors,” Axel said to her, not mentioning Viper. “I heard that you are practically unbeatable ad that only a few other duelists have ever gotten the better of you. I wanted to see if I could push you to a wall, to see how you would react.”

“Is that all?” Alice said, feeling like there was something more, but she was too tired to delve too far into the reasoning.

“Yeah,” Axel said back to her. “And I guess I was a bit too extreme back there.”

“That’s fine, just don’t try this again,” Alice said making it clear to him that if he tried this again, she would make him suffer. No one messes with her sister.

“Even if I wanted to, I don’t think I have the energy to do it myself any time soon,” he said back to her, stretching his shoulders. “I’ve been in many survival duels before at West Academy, but I’ve never been this drained before after having one.”

“Alright Alex you are free to go,” Miss Fontaine said to him, after giving him a physical this morning. His body was stiff, and he was low on energy, but that was nothing a nice meal and a few good nights of rest couldn’t fix. Though she feared that if it was any more than this, either one of them could be hospitalized. Axel seemed alright, but Alice, was in a definite worse state than he was, and the only thing that can connect these two instances was dueling.

“As for you Alice, you may leave tomorrow, but you will be required to use a wheelchair for the next few days until that numbness in your legs is gone and absolutely no dueling for the next two weeks.”

“Miss Fontaine, that’s impossible,” Alexis said to her. “Alice loves dueling.”

“You can’t tell her that she can’t duel, that’s too cruel,” Blair said, agreeing with Alexis.

“It’ll be fine,” Alice said to them. “It’s just two weeks, I survived that with mother, remember?”

“Alice, you dueled father behind mother's back within the first few nights of being home,” Alexis said, not believing in her sister's willpower not to duel. While it was true that dueling was no longer the most important thing in Alice’s life, it was still high up there.

“It’s fine, besides, casual tabletop dueling is allowed right?” Alice asked, hoping that Miss Fontaine may forbid that as well.

“That should be fine,” Miss Fontaine told her. “Just nothing competitive.”

“Yes!” Alice said to herself, and at the same time, she notice that Axel was gone. Axel was probably busy right now, so there was no need to worry, they would meet again.
