3D scenarios, better renders, and more immersive gameplay.

In my pursue to start making this game more immersive I have been creating 3D scenarios to implement in DST.

For those who already played the latest versions of DST (v0.8.x and above), you may have noticed that, in the Bordello & the room where performances are happening, I am not using rendered characters over 2D backgrounds (like a puppet show). Instead, I have created my own SW-ish scenarios.

How is that? what changes are to come?


PuppetShows vs Immersive Scenarios

Well, first of all, I want to avoid more "puppet shows" in the most relevant areas of the game, moving from the (1) picture, to the (2) picture:


And why is this so important? because it also allows me to improve other areas of the game, such as:


Interact with all those Immersive scenarios

When I started creating DST, I got inspiration with an old game. Some of you may guess which one it is. We're using the same engine, which leads to create very similar experiences (No, I haven't stealt it, the engine is FREE, it's called fungus, and you can check it on the unity store). 

However, as I said, the game is old. Nowadays, the most successful games create immersive experiences by avoiding unnecessary menus. And this is another change I want to do with DST.

I want to move from the (3) pic, to (4):

*Everything between "( )" will be displayed on mouse-over & only the items in red will explicitly show that you can interact with them since they substitute the old menus*

This does not only looks better, but gives you more content and allows you to navigate through all this hand-crafted scenarios. 

I want you to feel that you are walking through the rooms of the Death Star.


Which areas of the Death Star will suffer those changes?

At long term, all the areas that right now are "puppet-shows" will suffer this transformation.

Some of them that have more priority:  The Cantina, the Slave-Cells & all the places where you can speak or interact with Slaves & Officers.

I am also planning to include new areas where you can watch NSWF scenes, such as The Torture Room. This way, when you "level up" the slaves, you will also be able to watch how they are getting "trainned" to become more "acquiescent".


When this will be available and how can you help?

Again, creating SW-ish 3D scenarios is not easy.  

Unlike most of the other +18 VN games, I cannot use stock assets or purchase scenes and start using them straight away. I must create all those scenes by modifying those existing assets. This take an immense, IMMENSE ammount of work.

It's not just placing random stuff into a room. Everything has to fit with the rest of the style, can't obstaculize other props, the lights have to cast the proper shadows, then the camera has to... well, you get the point.

As you can see in the header of the post, I also have re-created Vader's Meditation Chambers (which includes another Rest-Room with bed and few more stuff for NSFW scenes)

I bet you can't guess how many hours it took me to model, texturize & adapt for Daz3D all that stuff. And I am still doing this alone.

So, when all those things will be availble? I don't know, but if you want to start enjoying this more immersive version of DST as soon as possible, there are many ways you can help me.

No, I won't ask you to help me create those scenarios, to programm interactive scenes in Unity, or to create this game for me. But since you are reading this in Patreon (platform to support artists), you can imagine which one is it. 

I am using your pledges to have better equipment (that drives to higher quality pictures and less time to render them) and to externalize stuff that takes time (such as text-editing, 3D modelling, etc.)

If you really want to keep playing this game and enjoying new updates, new girls, and new stuff, consider it very seriously. My Patreon Pedges have been steady for few months now, and the income I am getting is not very high. 

Otherwise, I will have to spend less time creating DST and more doing other stuff (extra hours at work?).

I am willing to do my best to keep developing this game, but it depends on you how much time will it take.
