“Alice!!! Alice!!! Where are you!!!?” All of her friends yelled searching for her, but she was nowhere to be found. After her battle with Viper, she ended up passing out as everyone was transported to another world. It was there that “She” found her. “She” brought Alice all the way into the library and laid her down in a bed that “She” specially prepared for.
“Ugh, what happened?” Alice asked herself, unable to move her body thanks to all the energy that Viper drained from her.
“Shh~, don’t move, you need your rest~,” “She” said to Alice from the shadows. It wasn’t time for them to meet face to face just yet. Initially “She” had planned on making Alice suffer for abandoning her, but after observing her this entire time “She” could tell that Alice had changed for the better. She was no longer the inconsiderate Jaden that “She” used to know.
“W-who are you?” Alice asked weekly, confused by who was there, though oddly enough she couldn’t help but finds this person’s voice to be familiar for some reason.
“You’ll learn soon enough,” “She” said to Alice. “For now you should rest~. I have a fun game that I want to play with all your little friends that are trying to take you away from me~.”
“What are you talking about!?” Alice yelled as she disappeared, leaving her alone in the dimly lit library.
Hours had passed, and Alice was still unable to move. Her friends and sister had yet to find her, and the unknown person that brought her here was still gone. She didn’t know what they had planned for her, and she didn’t want to find out.
“Hmmm~!!!” All of a sudden Alice’s right thigh started to feel fuzzy, and the next thing that she knew Winged Dolly Kuriboh flew out from her deck, and she was actually tangible!
“Kuriboh! How is this possible!?” Alice yelled, still unaware of what was happening outside the school right now. “No wait that doesn’t matter right now. Please go find Chazz or Jesse, tell them where I am,” Alice said, knowing that the strange person could come back any second now and that Chazz and Jesse were the only two other people, that she knew who could understand duel spirits.
“Hmmmm~!!!”
Kuriboh flew off, hopefully, to get help. Though Alice wasn’t left alone for long.
CREAK!
“Hello?” Adrian walked into the library and was shocked to see that Alice was there. “Alice? What happened to you?”
“Adrian? I thought you were in the dorms. Why are you here?” Alice asked confused. He should have been too injured to move. How was this possible?”
“Fufufu~. He’s here for me~,” “She” said from the shadows, appearing from an angle so that Alice couldn’t see her.
“I did what you asked and free you from Viper. Now where is what you promised me?” Adrian asked her, revealing his true self to Alice.
“You see this my dear Alice, he claims to be the friend of the girl you love, but in the end, he only cares about himself. He doesn’t even bother to help you up~,” “She” said, finally leaving the shadows to reveal that “She” was in control of Vice Chancellor Bonaparte’s son Marcel.
“Who are you?” Alice asked, having no idea who this person was or their connection with one another.
“Don’t worry, you’ll figure that out soon enough, but for now let's start off with a simple game~,” “She” said watching Alice struggling to try and free herself. “I bet that will accept the power that I offer. And you can say that he won’t take the power and will free you~.”
“Adrian will never betray us! We’re friends!” Alice yelled at her. “Adrian please you have to help me. I don’t know what’s going on!”
“Tsk, sorry Alice, but they’re right I’m here for the power that they’re offering,” Adrian said to her. “My whole goal for coming to this academy was to get my hands on this power. Though it would seem that “She” decided to give that power to someone else first.”
“It was never my intention to betray you, Adrian, just as it was never you’re intending to break the trust of your friends,” “She” said to him. “I am just doing the best with what I have, though you will still get the power you’ve been promised. I am sorry to say that you lost this game, my dear Alice~. When I get back we’ll play a new game~.”
“Wait! Don’t leave! Who are you!” Alice yelled unable to figure out who “She” was as they left leaving her alone once again.
For the next hour or so Alice was locked away in the library unable to move. Though luckily she could feel her energy returning to her. She still couldn’t move, but hopefully, she would be able to sooner rather than later.
“Alice!!!!” All of a sudden, Alexis, Jesse, Chazz, and Syrus came charging into the room, led by Kuriboh.
“Alexis!” Alice yelled, delighted to see that her sister had come for her.
“Alice I was so worried!” Alexis yelled hugging her sister. After Duel Academy was transported to this strange place I thought I lost you.”
“Alexis I’m here don’t worry~,” Alice said, still unable to move. “What do you mean that Duel Academy was transported?”
“That’s right she doesn’t know,” Chazz said, ruining their reunion. “After you beat Viper the entire school was transported to this place where duel monsters are real. Look at this,” he said, showing them his Ojama’s.
“Boss let us go~!” “Come on you know you love this!” “Hehehe, the boss can’t escape from us now~!”
“Quiet!” Chazz yelled at them to shut up. “I swear listening to you idiots talk is so much worse now than it was before.”
“As you can see we have this going on right now,” Jesse said to Alice happy that she was alright. “And there’s also this person,” she said, moving over as Bastian come out from behind them.
“Bastian I thought you disappeared!” Alice yelled shocked to see her old friend.
“You were quite right. For a time I was lost, until I found you,” he said to her. “But there is no time for this, we need to get moving and back to the gym. They’ll be coming soon.”
“Who’ll be coming son? Alice asked, confused since she had no idea what was going on right now.
“We’ll explain on the way,” Chazz said picking her up as he was the only one strong enough to do so currently. “We need to go now!”
All of a sudden several other students began to enter the library, but Alice couldn’t help but think that there was something wrong with them.
“Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel…”
All they could say was duel. It was unnerving and freaked Alice out. What had happened to them?
“Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel… Duel…”
“Let’s go!” Chazz yelled taking charge, and leading everyone out of the library using the emergency exit.
“What’s going on!” Alice asked, scared, watching as the students continued to follow after them.
“We don’t know!” Alexis yelled as they ran. “After we woke up her several students started acting strange, demanding duels. When they win you become just like them. And when you lose they just get back up and duel you again. They won’t stop until they win. We call them Duel Ghouls.
“Shit! The way ahead is blocked!” Jesse yelled, seeing more Duel Ghouls ahead of them.
“Go! I’ll hold them off!” Syrus yelled, deciding to be brave for one of the few times in his life. “Alice I love you!” he yelled charging straight into the Duel Ghouls, allowing the others to run straight passed them into the gym. None of them bothered to acknowledge Syrus’ sacrifice due to the last comment he made.
“Huff! Huff! Huff! W-we made it,” everyone said, trying to catch their breath.
-10 Minutes of Explanations Later-
“Okay so let me get this straight,” Alice said trying to piece everything together. “The entire school was transported to another dimension. There are Duel Ghouls trying to basically kill us. And there is an evil entity that has taken over Marcel. Who’s responsible for all of this?”
“Yes, preciously~,” Bastian said to her. “And currently thanks to the help from the professor we may have a way of returning us back to our dimension, but it will take some time.”
“I can’t believe that Adrian would join forces with that thing,” Jesse said, annoyed that her friend would betray them, no betray her like that. How could she have been so blind to his true motives? Echo must have been helping him this entire time.
“For now all we can do is wait,” Alexis said, bringing back Miss Fontaine who saw to Alice. Luckily everyone here was safe for now, but for how long t would last was a mystery.
“Chazz I need to talk to you,” Jesse said, realizing that Alice would be out of commission for a while.
“What is it?” Chazz asked, allowing Jesse to take him to a secluded area of the gym so that they could talk alone.
“You saw it didn’t you,” Jesse said to him. “In the library, you saw it as well.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Chazz said back to her. “You must be delusional.”
“Yeah! The boss didn’t see nothing!” Ojama yellow yelled at Jess.
“Shut up and answer me!” Jesse said, pissed off, because she saw it as well. She didn’t say anything at the time because she didn’t want to attract its attention, but it looked at her with hatred in its eyes.
“…Fine I saw it,” Chazz said to her. “But so what? There are a ton of strange things happening, and all that matters is that we get the hell out of here. That’s even if we can.”
“Chazz where are you going?” Jesse asked seeing that he was leaving.
“I’m going to search for some food. There is only so much and with those Duel Ghouls running around things will only get harder. I refuse to starve,” he said, leaving without another word.
“Damnit, how are we going to fix this?” Jesse asked herself.
“The same way that we always do,” Alexis said, walking over to her. “Alice may be down for the count, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to give up. Pegasus is trying to send you that Rainbow Dragon Card. With that, we can get back home. Hopefully, then you can tell her your secret.”
“What secret?” Jesse asked her, wondering if Alexis really knew that she was Juliana.
“Fine be that way. If you don’t want to talk about it yet, then we don’t have to,” Alexis said to her, knowing that Alice would eventually find out. It was only a matter of time.
“I agree with her,” Adrian said, stepping out of the shadows. “If she really is the girl that you love then you should waste any more time and tell her. Though unfortunately, it’s already too late.”
“Adrian! What are you doing here!? And your arm! What happened to your arm!?” Jesse yelled at him. “Alice told me that you joined sides with the thing that brought us here!”
“It’s true I did,” Adrian said to them. “Though you have it all wrong. They are trying to help. They have shown me the path that I need to take. They can do the same for you. Juliana, they want to meet with you. You are dear to Alice so only you can understand them.”
“What are you talking about!?” Juliana yelled at him. “What does Alice have to do with this? Why is she so important? What did she ever do to them?”
“I wish I could tell you, but I’m in the dark myself,” Adrian said, shrugging it off. “Either way I need you to come with me.
“She’s not going with you,” Alexis said, standing between them. “If that thing wants someone close to Alice then take me. As her sister, you won’t be able to get anyone better.”
“Alexis you can’t,” Juliana said, trying to stop her, but Alexis was firm with her decision.
“No, I have to do this,” Alexis said back to her. “You need to be the one to duel so you can receive the Rainbow Dragon card. Without it, none of us can go home. This will buy you the time that you need. Besides I need to meet the piece of shit that dares tries to harm my sister. So Adrian what do you say, do we have a deal?”
“Hmm, well they’ll probably get mad at me for not listening to them, but who cares, you made a good point,” he said grabbing her hands. “In terms of a potential girlfriend vs a sister, I do believe that a sister holds more value~.”
“Take care of Alice,” Alexis said to Juliana, as Adrian took her away, through a secret corridor connected to the gym
