Adventures As A Pokémorph Part 16 Final: Welcome To Atlas

“And why not, both my son and I can make these decisions for ourselves,” my mother said back to her. “I do believe that my son has helped you enough already with your tests and should be opted out of them for now don’t you agree?”

“You son was warned what would happen,” the doctor said to her. “We won’t allow such a dangerous creature roaming around unsupervised and since his friend will be forbidden from coming here until your daughter is deemed not a threat.”

“And I’m I not a threat?” I mother asked using Psychic to lift the doctor up into the air. “Emma Branch, did you really think that I would recognize you with the silly disguise on you? I’m disappointed in you I really am.”

“Mom, do you know her?” I asked seeing the anger in her eyes.

“I do and so do you, but you probably don’t remember since you were only a few years old at the time,” my mother said to me. “Mrs. Branch is a disqualified Pokémon researcher. 16 years ago, she was accused of stealing Marcus’ Dust research paper by none other than me, while I was still working as a reporter.”

“Your false claims ruined my career!” the doctor yelled at my mother. “I lost everything because of you!”

“My claims were not false,” my mother said back to her. Perhaps you should have used a different document than one that was covered with stains and fingerprints from my husband. Now tell me, why are you here?”

“To reignite my career, thanks to your daughter I was able to get more data than I could have dreamed,” she arrogantly said back to my mother.

“Your test are done,” my mother said to her, placing her back down on the ground. “Leave now while this remains a warning.”

“Fine, I got what I needed,” she said, backing away to the door. “Just to let you know I was trying to help these people. Just because I used them to help me start up my career does not make me a bad person. I do believe that your husband fits that bill though. Until we meet again Serena~,” she left giving me the ominous feeling that we would most definitely see each other again.

“Don’t worry. I promise that you never have to do those tests again,” my mother said to me. “Now, what do you girls have to say about getting some food?”

“I do believe I already have that covered,” Lila’s mother said walking into the room carrying bags of noodles and rice. “Lila texted me and told me what happened. I canceled all of my plans for the day, so let’s eat,” she said placing the bags on my bed.

“Lin, it’s so good to see you,” my mother said to her, embracing her best friend. “I feel like it’s been ages.”

“Well a month was a long time for you to be asleep,” Lin said back to her. “Though I can see that even your new form has done nothing against that lovely figure of yours,” she said starting straight at my mother's chest. It would seem that was one of the things that set Gardevior Pokémorph apart from regular ones was this key human asset. “Perhaps I should become a Pokémorph myself, I’m sure that it would do wonders for my body~.”

“Mom!” Lila yelled in embarrassment.

“I was only kidding. What a worrywart this one is,” Lin said sitting down next to my mother as I brought them their food. “Thank you, dear,” she said to me.

“No problem I said going back to the bed with Lila, opening up the box filled with fried rice and noodles which were my favorite.

Not wanting to sit and eat in silence I turned on the tv for us to watch.

“In recent news, the hunt for Pokémorph’s continues in Unova. Strong prejudice and fear is running rampant in the streets as Pokémorph’s are hunted down without hesitation. Some are enslaved while others are killed. The Unova champion Iris is nowhere to be found, and the league is failing to handle to situation. This reporter fears for their… what is this? We will now be showing you live footage from a conference at the U.N. where a Ninetails Pokémorph recently revealed to be Senator Arnold Ludwig, from the Hoenn region is giving an important announcement.” On the tv, a humanoid Ninetails were a white suit appeared on the stage.

“Thank you all for coming here today,” Ludwig said to the crowd. “As you may already know, I am Arnold Ludwig, a foreign relations senator for the Hoenn region, and as many of you can see I am myself a Pokémorph.”

“Just like many of you, I had no choice when I was transformed. I awoke confused and scared just like many of you watching were when you became Pokémorph’s as well. What Marcus Dust did to us is horrible and inhumane, but we can’t do anything but accept that this is how it will be for now. I am not saying that any of you should like your new forms, but we need to accept what we are now.”

“We are not people anyone nor are we Pokémon. We are Pokémorph’s. We had no choice when we became Pokémorph’s, but it would seem that many people wish to take their anger out on us and our kind!” he said starting to yell out his grievances.

“So what if we aren’t humans anymore!? We still deserve to be treated like we belong! We don’t deserve to be beaten, killed, and enslaved for something that we did not choose to be. My own 8-year-old son was transformed into a Pokémorph while he was at school, a place that he should have been safe for him, but it wasn’t. The moment he turned he was brutally beaten to death by his own teacher and the teacher run wasn’t even charged with murder, but rather violence against a Pokémon!”

“That is what we are to humans now. No one will accept us for what we are in any region. That is why with the full agreement of the U.N. a new region shall be born. It is a continent south of the Kanto region. This region will be known as Atlas as we will bear through our oppression with our strength of will!”

“In this region Pokémon, Humans, and Pokémorph’s shall live together in harmony. All Pokémorph’s are welcome at Atlas and only the humans that pass our test will be allowed to come as well.”

“The development of Atlas has just begun, but we estimate with 6 months the first 5000 Pokémorph’s will be able to live in this new region. And within a year every Pokémorph can live there without fear of the outside.”
