July and August Poll - The Empire of Sun

Greetings Sun Emperor,

Disturbing news from the eastern border cities  have come to the notice of this Council. The drums of war begin to resonate outside our borders and the rumors of a phantom menace spread like wildfire throughout the Empire of Sun.

Strange lights have begun to shine in the dark night and a strong earthquake shook the earth three moons ago. Our scouts claim to have seen Prince Rurik and his entourage venture into the Forbidden Mountains, who knows for what purpose. And meanwhile, our army languishes trapped in its own past glories.

It is the duty of this Council to recommend to the Sun Emperor the possible actions to be taken to reinforce our power.

Wittemberg is waiting for the gold shipment to rebuild the Imperial Gunpowder School. Upgrading our harquebuses is essential to keep enemies away from our borders and cause a large number of casualties in battle before enter the combat. In addition, new technology has arrived from Caladria, allowing us to create firearms that can be operated with one hand, even while riding a horse.

The Old Fencing Academy of Soltau has seen better times. Now it looks more like an ancient ruin than the place where the Empire of Sun’s best swordsmen are trained. The tale says that each promotion of swordsmen is accompanied into battle by their master, who oversees the battle from the top of his pretentious chariot, being honored with the victory of his students or disgraced by their defeat.

The Wawel Castle is the glory of Nelks. The sons and daughters of Volhynia's elite are sent to the castle where their spirit and character are forged under the strict laws of war. The winged cavalry and the Daughters of Volhynia are the most feared combat units in the entire Empire of Sun. However, the castle's master blacksmith has disappeared, and only he knows the secret to forging the unique armor of these soldiers. We need to find it.

Finally, these Esperians… For a long time they have lived quietly under the sun with no other concern than a good meal and a good bed to rest. The time has come for them to wake up. Rebuilding the Calista’s Alcazar will be key to rearming the once fearsome Esperian Tercios, and calling up their militias.

Many other actions need to be taken, but this can be a good start.
