Mergenheim Engineering School: Regis Ultima Ratio!

Greetings Sun Emperor,

Today is a day of celebration, my lord. The construction of the Mergenheim Engineering School has been completed and the brightest minds in the entire Empire of Sun already reside among its great halls, filled with ancient texts, tools and hundreds of gadgets, with the aim of bringing the Empire to a new golden age of technological advances in all areas of knowledge.

The first discoveries have already begun. With the improvement in the handling of gunpowder and metalworking, Mergenheim Engineers have created large cylinders that allow firing iron spheres at great power and speed, being able to pass through the heaviest walls or to create havoc into enemy formations: the Mergenheim Artillery. According to the latest letters received from the School, the variation in the size and position of the metal cylinders allows the creation of different types of cannons: large cannons, siege cannons or mortars and a last artillery piece, the volley gun, formed by small stacked cannons that allow firing bursts of small ammunition, faster than our arquebusiers.

These new Mergenheim Artillery pieces can be handled by three soldiers with almost any training, so they can be used in all corners of the Empire of Sun.

Also, a new idea has emerged from among the scholars. According to the Mergenheim master engineers, some dark stones like the same night, extracted from the depths of the earth, can be used to generate large fires that feed a new machine created from metal, wood and large tanks of water, giving it life as if it was some kind of dark magic. A single of these steam engines - so called by the engineers - has the power of one hundred horses and its profits can be uncountable. Some scholars say this invention is going to change the world… We will see.

Let the roar of our new weapons sound in every battlefield and inflict fear in the heart of our enemies.

Today is finally the day to talk about artillery! At the beginning we planned to leave the Mergenheim Engineering School as a poll option for another release, but after thinking a lot about it we have decided to bring in it to life now due to the relevance of the artillery in any human renaissance army! 

Along with the Landsknechts of Soltau, which by the way are almost finished and ready to send to be pre-supported, this September Release we'll have three pieces of artillery and three or four more miniatures as an artillery crew. 💣

For the steam machines we aren't going to do anything yet because the Mergenheim Engineers are still thinking about the best way to implemet it as a weapon... They have a rough idea but more minds are needed so cool things are coming soon!
