Spring Festival Kuya + process!
Added 2023-05-29 21:17:30 +0000 UTCFrom a series of Nu Carnival prints I did for Otakuthon 2022. I never got around to posting them here so here is Kuya which ended up being my favourite to work on. The Chinese outfit for the lunar new year really inspired me.
This illustration came to me very naturally from concept to rough sketching to finish. I think polishing it was a bit of challenge because of the umbrella anatomy and how I mixed up layers colouring the details of his coat as you can see in the process. In my workflow I usually want to limit my layers count but I also want to be able to isolate details…. Which in the end makes me confused and this happens. Though in the end this one is still my favourite picture of my series.
