Ah, okay. Either way, I imagine some people would be interested to see those PSD or SAI files - might I suggest considering integrating those into one of the reward tiers (or a new one)? I'm just thinking it might provide an extra incentive for people to become patrons! :D

Thanks 1st of all we work in SAI, not PS, and few types of layers will work quite differend when saved as PSD, mostly "luminocity" layers. There's a "linear dodge" which is quite similar in PS, but still it's not the same. Also, we do a bit of post processing over a .jpeg using some Nicon software that went with a camera, so final colors are quite different from initial .sai file. We also merge a lot of layers when the file size approaches 500mb, so some process is lost on that stage as well. And the main thing, we are self-taughts and I'm 100% sure we aren't doing all the things the right way you want to learn. But yea, I can provide some if interested.

personalami

I'm happy with how things are here at the moment :) Out of curiosity, though, do you have any plans to offer PSD files of some works in the future?

Antsstyle

Thank you for explaining that to me, Okinsha. I didn't fully understand Patreon as a artist's marketplace, and didn't know this was well understood. I am sorry for being insulting and redundant. I didn't even know this place existed until Personalimi made a blanket invitation to follow him here and subscribe to his story project. My only other experience with crowd funding an artist was when Jordis Unga invited me to her now notorious Kickstarter. I don't regret the $1650 I lost on that nearly so much as I regret 1) the end of her career, and 2) not speaking up earlier, when she was still listening to me personally.

For example. A group of people wearing all black clothing and ski masks don't burst into a bank with firearms drawn demanding "Do what we want, or else people start getting hurt" and expect the people there to mow their lawns and do their dishes. There are specific demands to direct the situation towards the outcome they want. While the stakes here aren't as grand, specifics will still contribute immensely towards an outcome.

The original post for this reply (and their immediate follow up post, (maybe part 2 of 2?) feels like such a cheap, backhanded compliment at the artist team here. The vague threat of 'I may shift my patronage elsewhere', and, 'it's more or less the same as content that's already coming out' and even the 'I feel that our interests are diverging' is highly unnecessary. Patrons come and go based on the criteria you just specified. The art is unique. And people are already voting with their funding. That's why this funding platform exists. Misinterpreting or not receiving the content you had expected is why people cancel their funding. This should be taken as a known fact, reiterating it as 'be passionate about your work (and make sure it's something I like, so I keep giving you money)' is insulting in my opinion. There is a consistent standard of work here that is attracting patrons. But, by all means, voice constructive criticism; 'you could possibly improve by doing'X'', etc, etc. But a threat (whether you see it as that or not,) of funding is of no use to anyone.

I'm sorry to hear that and disappoint you. We're having some irl issues to be taken into account atm, and don't have a lot of time to draw. At the same time there's a dozen of people willing to commission us, waiting for months for their turn. I was like "sorry, we dnt have any time now, maybe next month but I'm not sure" 3-4 months ago, and they are still patiently waiting, asking every month if we're availible. Ofc we don't take upfront payments and don't make any real promises, but it's still kinda sad diappointing people. Just can't handle everything at the same time. And WoW is kinda our niche. We are wow-nerds ourselves, spent lotsa years there, we got known for our wow fanarts, most of our fanbase are wow players as well. No wonder they vote for their favorite wow chars.

personalami

As it is, it seems your Patreon has become a vehicle for masses of people to pool together for WoW and other video game character commissions. That's great for them, and you too, if that's what you want to do. I'd be the first to say, that if you aren't passionate about a porn story while you're working on it, you should be working on something else instead. Just rushing for a deadline or a paycheck will hurt it. In the long run, I may shift my patronage elsewhere, if and when I fancy another story style project. I feel that our interests are diverging. As I said to begin with, an artist has to earn a living, and I respect that.

An artist has got to earn a living. I favorited you at HF because the artwork was great and the subject matter was sexy, even if it was more or less the same torso as the WoW pin-up girl of the week. People were commissioning the work, and you were pleasing them. When you linked Patreon and said you wanted to do something a little different, to tell a story, I jumped aboard. I wanted to see what kind of art you wanted to do, help you to reach a wider audience, and support you as a graphic novel artist. I am enjoying the Wesgar story. I am glad you're getting an extra $1,000/month.

patient1

Well, i just hope she will make it this time. Just wonder how the scarlet theme my Dai lives in would look in your pictures

Daimonia

Well it wasn't a fact she'd win that time, Nova had the same amount of votes. It was like Whitemane gets a vote - Nova gets 2, Whitemane catches up again, repeat until the number of votes exceeds the total amount of patrons.

personalami

Uhm, well im totally hoping for whitemane this month. I was so upset when the last poll with her got aborted.

Daimonia

We post everything we do to personalami.deviantart.com and <a href="http://www.hentai-foundry.com/user/personalami/profile" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.hentai-foundry.com/user/personalami/profile</a> , you can count :) But usually its like 3 pics maximum

personalami

That's awesome! How many commissions do you do monthly on average?

Linarian

No, we live off commissions

personalami

since we are discussing random things, I would like to point out that I stumbled upon a new patreon artist, I'm currently the only patreon, but you could be too. <a href="https://www.patreon.com/akiru?ty=h">https://www.patreon.com/akiru?ty=h</a>

kenshinfan1

I'm really curious if you guys have a day job and do the drawing on the side or are working with art somewhere and still draw on the side.

Linarian

LOL

personalami

Oh, uh. If animations ever happen to come back to the table, Blizzard has you covered for certain sound effects. (<a href="http://www.wowhead.com/sound=16254/ac-paletress-woundheavy)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.wowhead.com/sound=16254/ac-paletress-woundheavy)</a> >.>

Okinsha Haoura

Oh I like that idea ^^

personalami

Still holding my breath for twin white Draenei priests, "helping each other out" with their tails ♥ (And maybe even seeing Argent Confessor Paletress come up in the monthly vote~)

Okinsha Haoura

Sure we'll do occasionly when we have some more spare time to spend on a pic. Not now tho, currently we have an extremely busy period :(

personalami

Will do two polls at the beginning of the next month I believe (this month started below the milestone btw, quite of ppl left) Top two choices of one poll is kinda unfair, cuz this way you still suggest only one option.

personalami

Speaking of milestones that have been reached, how do the two pictures in a month work? Will the top two choices in the poll get a pic?

Ashgale

I'm wholly looking forward to two character scenes. While the milestone for that hasn't currently been reached, I do hope that won't prevent you from exploring those senarios
