It wasn't some random corruption bolt, Xavius said he had the tears of elune already, so he actually shot a nightmare-infused pillar of creation into her chest. If there was any loss to be suffered from that zone's whole thing of "the nightmare is getting way out of control" it'd be the dragon who is explicitly connected to the Dream.
