Kargo meant a lot to him, so it hurt more coming from him.

Kique Nordin

Looking back at this after re-reading the story for a third time, roamer has no right to only be angry at Kargo. Both him, Ferah AND Rogio kept Ronja’a whereabouts from him, yet Kargo gets the full blame? At first I understood but by re-reading I feel like Roamer was just looking for a way to break up with Kargo. Days after he hooks up with Rogio and completely forgets Kargo and views him as a bad person?? I know this page is old , but I don’t know where else to write this concern

Karlijn Bellemans

Roamer, at the moment, is clearly pissed and he has every right to be. Despite the time laws on Aedra being a little different from ours, 20 days is still long. In Aedra, it has been 1 month and 1 day ever since this secret has brewed. Roamer was in the moment and what he said to Kargo will not forever stay. Sure Kargo kept something so dire and meaningful from his mate and he should have told him much sooner, but how he executed telling the truth was quite uncalled for and very... impulsive. However, that is his trait and he worked it quite well in the following scenes. I'm not worried about either of them. Kargo will, of course, feel sad about this like anyone else would. Roamer will feel betrayed, hurt, and lied to for a bit as well. Roamer said that and it has become Kargo's punishment. He will think twice in the future before keeping secrets from his mate again, judging his reactions to being rejected by Roamer. What Kargo thought was funny for a split moment was obviously something serious. He stemmed from something serious to something playful in an instant - again, a trait he has, which was shown beautifully. Roamer, in my heart, will most likely go off, be alone, and think for a while about this and perhaps confront someone about it [perhaps Ferah or Rogio] to see if THEY were in on it too, which could add to the bottle. He probably will hold a small bit of resentment towards Kargo at the moment because of this and quite frankly he deserves it. Don't get me wrong, I love Kargo and everyone a lot. I do not hold any hate for any character in this series, whether they be as 'horrible' [I say that very lightly] as Ranach or as tender and sweet as Rogio. Obviously, to me, in the moment Roamer will not go after the MT to collect Ronja immediately because that's too impulsive and too 'clouded' [ig] for him to do so. HOWEVER... Roamer will probably let things calm down and perhaps [PERHAPS] join up with someone [maybe Fjordor and/or the gang?] to help him get back Ronja or at least TALK to her. To me, I don't think Roamer would just let Ronja live there. He's learned about how horrible the MT is according to Ferah - they're liars, manipulators, rapists, and coldblooded murderers basically, so I don't think that'll sit right with him knowing his apparent 'only mate choice back in the Asmundr pack' is in that environment. As seen, that's most likely the reason WHY he got so angry about this - that and letting this secret be in the shadows for a month. Him finding out that Ronja is pregnant with Ranach's offspring will ALSO not settle well either, to me at least. Rogio's expressions make me think that he had a 'flashback' you could say about him and Ranach's fights. ALSO, we do have to consider the fact that if Roamer appears at the MT with the gang, Ranach might see them. If Rogio is there [lets put ourselves in this situation even if it might not happen] and Ranach and him lock eyes, I have a feeling Rogio will be so, so cold to Ranach that he might actually snap. In the end, because of his night terrors, it is Ranach's selfishness that made him be like this. I can't wait to see how everything plays out and I'm curious to see what the next chapter has in store - as well as the blurred out scenes we'll see in the future! Overall, beautiful work Kique. I've been rereading Asmundr AND Home multiple times and whenever I do, I always come across details I've missed from the last read. You execute these comics beautifully and perfectly - don't give up and keep up the fantastic work!

I have missed analytic comments like these. <3 It is almost as interesting to read them as to read the comic itself. ^^

Mirku

In a way, i dont think he will go for revenge. Roamer is not stupid enough to want killing/hurting a love one just like that without knowing any details. Thats the most interesting part

Viktor

omfg, sorry for the long ass comment LOL, I always seems to go large when I notice something so well executed

@GuardianWolfie I could agree with your statement there, but Roamer's made a major point : it's been more than 20 days ( which in Home universe, seems to be a LOT ). There was no "wisdom" or anything involved into keeping the information for so long. At first yes there was : they weren't ready to go back. But after maximum ten days, it, indeed, become a selfish retention of information/lie. Again, yes, they are older and "more experimented", but being older and having lived lot of thing is never, lord, never, a reason to lie to another adult ( which Roamer is ). Yes, he is naive and had shown it multiple time, but knowing that, few days ( five ) would had been justified, not more. Treating him like a stupid 6 months old puppy is, to my eye, a big error the pack did, and a really insulting action towards Roamer. It's a big lack of trust towards the person (well, dog) he is, in bonus of a gigantic lack of respect, especially knowing how important Ronja was to him. Instead, they aknoweldgedly let him rot in worry and fear about a loved one, during so many, many days. To me, it's not a "he is not ready to know, neither are we", it's showcasing a total : "we are not ready", blatantly putting aside's the fact if yes or no Roamer was "ready", as well as his feelings, and his whole self. They were scared, yes, but for themselves, and from suffering if Roamer decided to go back ( and yes, put himself in danger ). But definitely scared for their own butts, and just put it on the "Roamer is young, naive and idiot." rather than assuming they were pissing themselves. To me, that alone, is far more cruel to someone than anything. Again, few days would totally change my point of view on the whole thing, but more than twenty... There's simply no reasons to my eyes. As humans, 20 days is nothing, but in that specific universe, it is. That's why the whole thing make me somehow so sad. They acted like pure idiots by lying for more than 5-10 days. They totally forget that Roamer is an adult, and even do he is naive, he showcased WAY enough times that he was way more mature for his age, and way less naive that he seemed to be. The wits of Roamer is to me his highest skill, as well as his adaptation and fast comprehension of the different cultural mindsets he get dropped into. Kargo, Ferah and Rogio have Age and Experience. Roamer have an epic fast Adaptation and and deep fast comprehension of what is going on and how things works. He doesn't need to be told twice that here it's "kill or die" ; he understands it right away, and quickly gather the two sides of the medal before deciding. Roamer was, to me, naive in the few first pages/chapters, but he stopped being so "moon moon" after the first "dramatic" event. And that, is a thing, the other characters seems oblivious to.. That's a reason I see Roamer more as a potential leader than any of the three others ; he doesn't try to decide what is best for XYZ other dog ; he will check the two sides of the medal and adjust from there. The others never seeked to know if Roamer was "ready" or not to hear about Ronja, they just genuinely decided it because "he's too young so he'll do stupid shit and go nuts, because, y'know, he's a baby little pure angel all smooshsmoosh butterflies." like the very first day he arrived in Aedra... But yeah, I love all the characters, but that's really my point of view on the current situation in that particular set of characters. I do believe Roamer will brush it off and try to talk with Ronja in more "official" ways like Kainan would do, because he's not as impulsive as Kargo, but I must admit that considering all the points listed above, my logic tell me that this whole situation will cause a gigantic cold OR that he will ring some bells to the others about the fact he's not an idiot pup because he's younger and "new" in this world. ( yes, again, he is, but citating my point above : he adapt. FAST. ). If he wouldn't be so compassionate, I do believe he would make them back off from his life for a moment, for waiting so long and using him as an "excuse" to not face their own fears. I find sad that only Niita and Grayson ( his parents ) treated him like an adult so far. ( and Kainan ). Only them since to be aware that he's able to make intelligent choices. It may sounds weird, but anyways, there everyone have a perfect definition of a Lie by Omission that backfire into a Selfish Manipulation (not on purpose, but it still remain that). It's the exact same thing that Jahla did to the Asmundr pack, except that she did it more rash and "obvious" for the readers. Like, litterally the same thing, same lie, same reason, just different subjects and way of telling it. For Jahla, to the reader it was more obvious, more... outrageous. For Roamer, to the reader, it was more knitted, more intricate. But both are the exact same thing. Honestly, on that part, Kique, you managed it amazingly, it's a perfect example to see how people's opinion will differ depending on how the "lie" had been showcased, of how a same lie can be "good" or "evil", when in fact it's the same same same thing. I salute you again on this amazing shot of psychology through your comic. I was looking forward to something like that since the last one I noticed back in Asmundr with Lifa-Ranulfr relationship/death.

Viktor

Wait, how is that? Roamer told Rhov and Jahla the first time he met Kargo and ferah that he was going to live with them. It was his decision and they didn't stop him. Roamer even wanted Rhov to stay with them when they reunited before the Guild showed up. Plus, he told his family he was leaving to remain with his new pack after they got Rogio out of the MT. How did he forget anyone in the timespan when Ferah was thrown over a waterfall and he thought she was dead because of him, Kargo dumped him and abandoned him to go after Ferah, resulting in him getting captured, and making Roamer attempt to bust him out with his family, only for that to fail and then come back home to find that his best friend was dead. A lot had happened to Roamer and the pack in a lot 24 hours that day. Ronja wasn't the biggest priority at the time because none of them were safe and sound. He's not selfish, or sheltered. He's naive and he still loves his family more than anything. He didn't even know Ronja was actually in the tribe until now. All he knew is that she left the Asmundr territory with a male. I understand Roamer's anger here. He didn't forsake anyone at all. He just wants his family safe.

Tahja Tomlinson

I can understand why Roamer is mad, but people have to understand that, yes, what Roamer is doing is quite uncalled for. Roamer's trait of being naive is taking a play here. He lacks the worldly experience and wisdom to understand that Kargo and Ferah's (also Rogio's) decision was done that way for a reason. But in this situation, Kargo's trait of being impulsive ALSO comes into play. He rushed into this without preparation and how Roamer could act. Had Ferah been there, this would have gone differently. Sure, 20 days is a *long* time to not tell someone something, but even Ferah said: "He's not ready to know and neither are we." It wasn't JUST Kargo's decision, Roamer, it was everyone's. In the end, they might have looked out for you in case you did something really impulsive and went to the MT looking for revenge. Kargo, Ferah, and Rogio were probably just looking out for Roamer and he's far too naive and young to understand that.

Ohhhh man

I've been having some issues with Patreon loading the comic image, so I can't fully read the page. I can guess that Roamer didn't react too well to what Kargo has told him about Ronja.

Spiritstrike

Even with that, I'm sure ronja wouldn't let any harm come to him...unless ranach says otherwise

Roamer is not happy! What will he do now. Will he go to the tribe and find out that Ronja is the Viscountess?

Morgran

Is it bad I hope to god Roamer gets major Karma for all this? Its pretty terrible of him to just so easily "Forget" "push back" the ones he grew up with like holy crap. I think its the main reason I dislike him so much as a character and I honestly don't care much for his part of the comic.

Nagito

Oh, you finally did it Kargo. Good job telling and not keep it a secret any longer. And I understand Roamer's anger, it's been 20 days. Better then Roamer just finding out. ^^

Tora Collita

Are u talking about Zilas's death?

Not that he is wrong for being angry about the situation but the fact is twenty days, it's only been that long for him, kargo and ferah has had countless encounters wit the tribe that one escape just adds on to it. I think the truth is their too scared to go back.....roamer might end up breaking up with kargo and heading back alone

Well, at least he told it and Roamer didn't accidentally find out by himself...

Yami

Poor Kargo kind of blurted it out impromptu. It probably would have gone better if ferah was involved they could have prefaced it maybe and softened the blow. This makes it look like it was hidden thoughtlessly or selfishly

JackalHackal

Aaah its finally come to light. I have to wonder if the same will eventually come to face Jahla eventually.

Gin

Oh dear..

Waikku

Wow, another page already? Awesome! I have to say, because Roamer doesn't give enough love, he's quite handsome in panel two. :) Anyway, it's kind of interesting to see the situation between Roamer and Kargo reversed with our gentle youngster starting to bear his fangs in anger. I’m just glad this scene is finally happening because so many people accused him of never asking about Ronja or Zilas and therefore not caring at all about them. I was sure it was eventually going to happen once an opportunity came up once he sorted out everything with Kargo and was ready to finally think about it. (I use distraction when I don’t want to address my own worries.)

DRAMA!
