If I am not mistaking, I think Rogio been died before, but Ranch aid him back to life by making a deal with that dark spirit.

How do you know all that things with spirits? Like that : Sapphire Elk is able to protect him by giving him a piece of her antler, where did we know that?

The perspective in the first panel is amazing. It's a gorgeous transition to an aerial view! Poor Rogio. I get where he's coming from, but we have to look at a view things to understand what he's saying. 1. Rogio is probably still traumatized by the recent events of being chained up to a SPIRIT STONE and getting attacked. This could be his way of showing paranoia. 2. The entire situation with Ferah could have been a coincidence. If Roamer didn't heal the Nova, Aira could have killed him and ate him. Then again, she probably would have scented Kargo and Roamer, which would probably make her come after them anyway. But if she didn't, there would be a chance that Ferah wouldn't have fell, because she was clearly knocked off the top of the cascade by the Nova when Aira spooked it. 3. There's a vast difference between Malevolent and Amicable spirits. We know the Sapphire Elk is able to protect him by giving him a piece of her antler, so maybe Annag is one of the peaceful spirits alongside the Sapphire Elk too? We also know that Fjordor got the armor Roamer and CO got when hunting the Aurora Boar from Spirit Serrandr, the Warrior Spirit himself. So perhaps Annag is one of the spirits that offers tranquility to those who seek his spring? 4. We also need to keep in mind that Rogio has the Pessimistic (▲) trait. That triangle shows that it's getting even more apparent. If you do not know what Pessimistic means, it means that Rogio is always seeing the worst in things, he believes that the worst will happen at any given moment; the feeling of hopelessness and despair that nothing will go right. So, maybe that's his way of getting this trait to get out there? I do respect his caution, but we must look into further details that might debunk this. Also, it seems like Roamer is still healing from the 'loss' of Ferah when she fell off the cascade. It was around... I'd say a little over a month ago? It's not a long time, so I'd see why he's still hurting about that. He has a sensitive trait, too, so that is probably why he got so taken aback by his words. Roamer is also getting more and more experienced with the situations he's set in and also getting older. Perhaps, after he considered Rogio's words, he'll be more cautious. He's losing his negligent and reckless trait, so that's good. Maybe after hearing Rogio out, he'll understand a bit more - be more wary of his decisions. But he could also see the light within the darkness and still do it anyway. Interesting things happening... perhaps going to the Sapphire Elk, Roamer will run into Whispervale with Aira and Keirr and inform them of what's going on, etc.? It would be cool to see a page of remarkable travel, like Kique's favorite page, where Roamer and Kainan are running towards the MT for the confrontation with Kargo, right to the Sapphire Elk Spirit to ask for tranquility and clear his mind and the chaos building in his body. Amazing page once again!

Hmm. Rogio is typically a pretty earnest dog, but here, though I do think he believes these things about the spirits, it also seems to me like he could be feeling hopeless and bitter due to his nightmares and the loss/betrayal of Ranach. I definitely think the whole situation of losing Ferah was a complete coincidence, but I do wonder, in light of recent events, if Rogio's words will make Roamer rethink things a bit. I also wonder if the Nova Roamer healed, after being attacked by Aira, went to the spring for healing or because he knew the water would probably make Aira sick. Or maybe he hoped Annag would protect him...

If anything, what happened to Roamer, Kargo and Ferah was nothing but bad luck. I don't think the spirit of the lake had evil intentions. Aren't there good spirits besides evil and neutral ones? We know the Sapphire Elk is one such good spirit.

Yea but I think rogio just corrected him after he said nothing bad happened when him and the others went. He pointed out the negative part that roamer failed to realize. He may think it was just a coincidence etc but the spirit may have had something to do with what happened.

Gosh, the first panel is amazing, adore the view of them from above. <3 And the painful memories when Roamer thought he lost the new love he had (Kargo leaving, and Ferah dead), even though it turned out to be not all true, the pain is still in his memory.
