Firefly night- Step by step

2- Second sketch that I keep as a guideline.
3- Lines filled in and the general palette chosen for the background. Leaves added in the back.
4- Leaves in the back heavily blurred. More foliage added using various brushes. Basic shades of the dog added using a soft brush. Opacity of the sketch is lowered.
5- More shape added to the dog using the same soft brush and 2-3 shades of each color.
6- Details added using a harder brush. Fur drawn by hand.
7- A layer above the sketch is added for the rest of the details of the dog to paint over the sketch. Light outline painted on the same layer. Back light added and fireflies.
8- Drawing merged and textures added to make colors pop.

Wow, I have always liked to see a work from a blank paper to finished. As I usually see it when my sister draws. Been some time since last time though. ^^
