Maybe by evolving they will gain more glowing spots like other species to combat the night beasts?

I also wonder if they will become more similar to the original (not corrupted, that's it) shield wolves, which most likely belong to Aedra as well, as their glowing writings (and Ranus words) always gave me this feeling. Like they might be artificial since they are creations of the skygods (hence the writings instead of natural markings), but maybe their ancestors were native to Aedra. And the first shield wolves were "good", just like the Akis. But yeah, I do think the fangs growing is kind of similar to the shield wolves who had their fangs growing as well when they would be healthy and surrounded by their kind.

This is just a theory and I could be totally wrong, but, perhaps the fangs growing longer signifies that they could be released into Aedra soon? Perhaps preparing them to interact in some type of way that'll require longer fangs?
Maybe they *need* this extra length in their fangs (e.g needing more defense?). Perhaps they'll be released soon or something, and the gods know of Aedra's intense landscape and residence there, so they give the Aki's some more natural protection? Or, perhaps, it is because their species is still very new and evolving?
OR... that is indeed the truth? If you remember, Ran and his pack needed the numbers (being surrounded by their own kind) in order to live and have their energy be strong. Perhaps Jahla's presence, considering she is part of the trinity, is helping the tribe become stronger, so that's why their fangs are all growing? Perhaps her presence is giving them more strength because they're surrounded by more of their own kind? Perhaps a trait inherited from Ran's species?
Either way, it is very interesting to theorize what could be going on with that. Can't wait to hear the answer to why as we progress with these guys.

Maybe? I do remember at the start of the comic, a ghoul grabbed Ronja and Jahla rushed to help her. As soon as Jahla got there, it let go. But this still isn't quite enough to go on.

would the akiulfrs be able to repel the ghouls with the light from their heads, or are they not powerful enough? π Also, do they even know that ghouls exist?

They could be caught remember they donβt look like the others and what others find different they fear and try to kill. Remember jahla wen she went to search for niita. And plus roghir donβt want his tribe mengaling with outside breeds just yet remember. And I agree with jahla when she say βor he saysβ. I honestly donβt think roghir has heard any word from the gods since theyβve been put on the island which probably means all this rules etc are roghirβs

Thakir's right. I don't doubt Roghir love the Akiulfrs, but this recent rule will kill their spirit and either drives them crazy, like their ancestors, or will result in depression which won't help to numbers the Akis anyway, as depressive persons won't "breed". As far as I remember, it was mentioned the Guilt might know about them anyway? What would be the harm to let at least some of them travel, alternating who's gonna to travel, the travelers could take interesting things back to the island etc.

Dammit I can't unsee the fact the on almost every panel the speech is coming out of Jahla's ass.

Aah the rainy/misty scenery is my favorite thing <3 I really like Thakir too, I wouldn't mind if he and Jahla got together haha. It could stir up some nice drama :^)

Ohhh three days later as well? Interesting, meaning Roamer and Fremja must be back with the MT. ^^
And Jahla really doesn't have faith in her brother at all.. can't blame her. Wonder what guidelines the skygods have set really

I would edit to:
"I think my fangs have become longer."
"Mine have as well."
"I'm starting to see the problem with his desire to keep the tribe from roaming."
"Each and every one of us yearns for freedom. We need room to explore who we are as individuals -"

I hope the Akiulfrs get to leave the island, even if only for a little while. Being couped up isn't good for their mental health. Also, I'm loving the misty backgrounds.

It definitely needs to be "have" instead of "has." :)

>Iβm starting to see the problem with his desire to the tribe from roaming. That sentence is awkward. It seems like itβd make more sense as: βIβm starting to see the problem with his desire to prevent the tribe from roaming.β

Jahla looks so beautiful in the last panel. I also love the change of scenery to this lovely grey and rainy setting, you did a great job. Thakir is right. But I wonder, if Father is instructing Roghir, why wouldn't he inform Jahla of his plans as well? Hence why Jahla says "or so he says" like she is skeptical. Also, what the heck is in the background of panel 3?! Looks like a giant opened clam!

Beautiful page! But the first panel I think should be βhaveβ instead of βhasβ since fangs is plural ^^
