I just realized that the reason they're so aggressive is probably because of Rohgir. I wonder how many tribes he has met since he generally describes the Aedra dogs as plundering, raiding, abusing and discriminating (pg 390). I completely forgot about this π±

What if Shield Wolves evolved from Aedra somehow? What if that is why Jahla always thought she felt like she belonged somewhere else? Or perhaps Rohgir introduced the other Akiβs, and it didnβt go the best and thatβs why Rohgir is so protective and secluded and said that other dogs are against the wolves?? Heβs full of secrets and I think something happened that heβs not speaking of. To be on a far away island and super protective and talking bad about the dogs of Aedra, I think it makes sense.

As the land he reffers to might be Aedra as a whole and not only Flamegarde's territory. The Matriarch might not be very tolerant with the "wolves" and all the other tribes might have warnings to kill the Akiulfr because they're considered dangerous. That might explain why this tribe attacked without reason, and the Nova they killed might just have warned the tribe to Thakir and Jahla's presence
