I do feel for both Keirr and Aira here, this is not easy for either one of them. I thought that maybe Zilas would be different than other ghouls, given that Ronja have raised a runestone for him but maybe not, it remains to be seen.

Yeah I feel sorry for Aira too. I think without everything before, I would have understand, Keirr is in a very dark spot right now, but he surely has a think for being mean to Aira. I do hope they'll will both grow out of it and that finally someone is nice to Aira, at least the other two.

Poor Aira can't seem to catch a break; nothing she ever does is good enough XC - On the other hand, I do feel bad for Keirr, I just wish he'd vent his frustration/Upsetness in a different way, instead of directing it onto Aira; its clearly not her fault and she's not deserving of said treatment. I'm not giving Keirr any kind of buttpats for that. Do I feel for him, Absolutely! Is he entitled to being sad, upset, frustrated, and a tiny bit angry, Of course! BUT he needs to learn how to channel it better. Aira is trying to be a good friend to him, as is the rest of the tribe by the looks of things. I hope that he comes around and learns to talk about his feelings just a bit and actually confide in his friends as that's typically something friends are there for to begin with (To be there for you). In all honesty this is a sad page for me. I loved Zilas - It breaks my heart to see this; to see him in this way. That first panel, is tear jerking at best. I hate seeing him with his throat slashed open and the sadness/Pain in his eyes that's clearly there. Poor kitty boi - I am so hoping something can be done about this, that his suffering can truly end at some point and he can be at peace. Keirr is right - Zilas is not deserving of such a fate. I hope that him appearing to still have some visibility of the Alive him showing is a sign of something. I can only hope really hard anyways....ah. Great page as always.

This is sooo heartbreaking... poor Keirr, desperately searching for an answer to a problem that's beyond his own control. Zilas pausing in his attack just makes it worse... he really looks like he recognises his brother but can't as though he's under some kind of spell or his mind is clouded by a fog of darkness...

So many emotion, poor Keirr but also poor Aira... I feel the Nightbeasts are so miserable but still, Zilas might be more...selfaware still, like others pointed out already, as he doesn't look THAT off- at least not for now. It's depressing and I can't even think about Fjordor and how he saw his wife like this for the first time. Can't even imagine how painful that must have been :/ Feel so sorry for Keirr, although I am glad he finally is crying. Also poor Aira, whatever she does, it's wrong, no one ever told her that she did something good, but maybe that is yet to come. However I am glad they are all there for him.

And what I can't help thinking about is that Zilas stretched out his paw to Keirr (or his necklace) and he has still the paw here before vanishing, one more mystery xD

So much emotions... It's interesting to see, that ghouls don't run away from fire, but just fade away like spirits. So the fire can't kill them. The same was with the spirit Vassal (?) - he just disappeared. So there is no possibility to burn in fire the body to lay it to rest? But something should be done with Vassal surely to bring an end to all these sufferings of the poor dead. And Zilas does not deserve such fate :(

My heart, Zila's face. It looks so desperate and sad, in pain, just pure anguish. I really see no anger or desire to "attack" here, he isn't flashing his teeth or trying to attack. He just looks so sad and confused and pained, as much as Keirr does to be honest. I am not sure if Ghoul's are really "them" anymore but at the same time that look on Zila's face almost makes me think otherwise. I still remember when he was just a feisty tiny cub, ugh, my heeaarrrttt.

Speculation rambling; Keirr needs to realize that ghoul is not Zilas. I don't believe those ghouls are something that has any memory of their time alive nor do they have any inclination to 'spare' you because you were their family. Note the past tense here. "Zilas" would have killed Keirr, as it's not Zilas- but rather it's almost like something wearing his skin, so to speak. Which is no less traumatizing for Keirr but I believe they do this for a reason, likely to tear open old wounds and cause situations like this- which is a big detachment from reality and in itself creates a vulnerability that, nine times out of ten, would certainly be fatal. But that's good for a creature that just exists to kill you and everyone you know.

Keirr, voicing my own feelings ;~; this is so hard to read, hhhhhhh. The look on Zilas' face.... My boy...

So heartbreaking page... If it was Zilas before, it seems that in ghoul form he remeber something from past life, if not then why he followed Keirr? And on the first panel he looks sad, like he want to say something, but he can't... He doesn't look like he want attack at all. But I understand Aira's reaction, she sees in ghouls only danger. And Keirr's furious is understable too, it's normal to be angry when you feel so helpless. I wonder why that terrible curse touched every dogs and cats on Aedra... Seriously it looks like someone praid to wrong gods (we know on the Aira's case that they can be perverse and they can twisted your wish), maybe for eternal life? And he got what he want, but in that form? Not aging, but possibility to death from wounds and then get a "life" after that? But why it is concerns all the population? Of course it's only loose speculation, I can't wait to see what is this all about!

He might be "his brother's Raimo" but Keirr certainly got some of Kainan's character showing through here, being pushed to his emotional limits. And look at how brave Aira has become for her friend! I hope Keirr will realize that eventually, and that he's not as alone as he might think he is. Also with Felidae and Raun caring about him. This is certainly one of my favorite pages.

This is probably one of my top favorite pages. It’s heartbreaking, but also shows a new beginning for aira and keirr. I love the fact that felidae and raun both followed aira. <33 keirr is very lucky to have these three there for him. But I hope him and zilas meet again and I hope he eventually finds his peace. Beautiful page kique! I love it!
