That looks to be the same stone in the last panel that Ranach tied Rogio too.. maybe the key to this and how Brodir saved his sons from being nightbeasts was sacrificing other tribe members or other dogs to Vesall to take for himself since he appeared before Rogio moments before he was rescued that stone must be the gateway and must be Vesalls stone to be called upon just like the other creatures.

And I noticed now interesting thing - Aira seems doesn't want to say others about her age, she first said "I saw" and quickly correct to "I was told" when she speak about events from distant past. She's ashamed of this or she's afraid that they will not belive her?

Yeah, that Aira was part of the Meteors was, at least for us readers (not so much for Keirr though) shown already with Ranachs grandfather and the fact that the Meteors, aka Kargo, knew about her. I would say I'll take this story with a grain of salt as stories are stories after all, but Aira was there, so she surely know the truth.
So...I am still a bit confused. The sky god seemingly didn't know about the night beasts, as they brought the dogs there, but then again, our matriarch told Jahla she made save zones…for what, if there weren't any beasts at the time? And why would there anyway, if there wasn't any intelligent life forms before the aliens brought the first and second wave of dogs from earth? As far as we know, only felines and dogs will turn into night beasts.
So...before I thought, okay maybe the Meteors did that, as they prayed to the dark spirit and often sacrificed traitors or unimpressed members to them. So that they would rise the population of NB all around the realm. But apparently the MT didn't have anything to do with it, either. Hrm. I am seriously curious how the NB came to be then.
Anyway, I am glad these three are there for him and that finally he seems to open up a bit, also nice that we got to hear some of Airas experience. She deserves screen time so much. Hopefully something could be done and I can easily see that they will go to the MT to reunite with the others.

So, I was right about pray, but on the totally other circumstances! (But maybe someone other praid to gods before... ;))
If I remember correctly Bródir was the one of the first dogs on Aedra, so they all turning into ghouls for a long time, maybe from the beginning? But why Sky God told Kainan something like that the ghouls are new threat and they didn't know about them before? Did he lied?
The doorway to the afterlife... Is this a place where Ranach took Rogio to give him to beasts? And then when he wanted him back, he knew that he can beacuse of that doorway. But I wonder if all Meteor's dogs know about that solution and how it works? Even Ranach seems didn't know about a price for returning Rogio.
And I wonder how many times Bródir or others used the doorway, if the price was always the same like Ranach heard, they had to sacreficed someone whom they valued the most to get back someone they valued the most, it has no sense to me at all.
And how exactly works the curse of which Aira said? The low fertility? Something more?
I need more answers about all of that! I can't wait to see more of Aira's story!
I wonder if Keirr want to go to MT to try to get back Zilas. But I think the cost of that would be too much...

"You don´t know that" Keirr just assumes that, not knowing just how old and experienced with these land Aira really is. Not that he could possibly know her story, yet, at least. And is it just me or is she speaking more confidently than she has before? Can´t wait to see more of her development.
Also Kique, you´re a darn amazing storywriter! This feels so well-paced and balanced. Really makes me ache for those characters <3

Eh, some really interesting backstory! I like this drip feed of information alot more than a info dump that usually happens at start in graphic novels. Btw, I do not know if its something with Aira, but her nose seems to be drawn, as seem from above/tilted, yet her head is sideways (panel 8). Or she might just have a really crooked nose.

Hmm.. My thought about Aira being with Meteors was right :D And it's interesting to see the MT story from her eyes and to learn more about its dark past. Though I didn't get well what she said in the last panel. Brodir wanted that his sons didn't turn into night beasts? So everybody turned into night beast even before dogs appeared here?

Maybe he had brothers. I could imagine Arenak secretly killing them off to get the title of jarl.

So the black and white dog in Airas flashback really was Bródir?
Well, aside of Keirr maybe going to MT territory and possibly reuniting with Ronja and Roamer, wherever this is going DOES NOT sound like a good idea ._.
