I wonder, if dogs within these walls can go at night through the forest without torch? I mean, the ghouls are only outside the walls, or there are still gouls inside the walls on the territory too? I can remember, that characters were in the Meteor territory forest without any torches at night.
And it's still a puzzle if they're running deeper in the territory or outside of it x)

It just hit me that they are running away from the wall, deeper into the territory....The plot is about to get so thick, even a knife will have trouble cutting it!

Coward always will be a coward, Ranach is cunning, but weak, so when the things start go wrong for him, he choose escape.
The reflection of fire in Roamer's eyes looks incredibly scary, he is really furious, probably the most in his life so far. He may not love Kargo as partner anymore, but he was his first love, so he has right to be so wrathful. Even burned paws can't stop him.
But one thing worries me: they running into the forest, and it's dark, so the night beasts may appear, Ranach has torch, but Roamer has no light and no weapon, so he is vunerable on ghoul's attack.

I just realised the look of panic in Ranach's eyes as Roamer chases him... Roamer is more than pissed, he's beyond angry. The tears of grief replaced by the flames of rage and vengeance in Roamer's eyes... Ranach has killed and hurt his last victim. This is well and truly personal for Roamer. Even though Roamer and Kargo were no longer together, he still had some old feelings for him. Kargo meant everything to Roamer, and this was more than a personal attack to him, this... this well and truly Roamer's desire to kill and I doubt he's going to stop.

I wonder if Ranach dropped his knife or is he still wearing it? If so he might have an advantage but damn does Roamer look pissed off. xD

Ranach is learning that there is more to fear in the night than ghouls - and unfortunately for him, this one cannot be scared off with light, nor made to become your slave via blood pact...

Just came to my mind, maybe Ranach heads to the direction of Keirr and the others. I'm sure they'll gladly help take Ranach down. Especially Keirr once he knows who that dog fleeing from Roamer is. Surely he'd like to have "a word" with the one who ordered Zilas' death.

I must point out again as well how amazingly done this page is, how glorious it is to see the tears in roamers eyes quite literally be burned away by pure rage and fire, ignited within him. How symbolic it all is, that the flame is in his eyes, makes them half ice blue/white, almost half red, the rage and passion of what he feels represented in that. I gotta say, Kique, your genius struck again with all the symbolism here! And also how similar Roamer looks to Kargo when he gets angry. I wonder if he can now understand Kargos rage a bit better, can understand how all consuming it can feel if one is triggered or traumatised (i guess seeing your first love die by the hands of someone you hate so much is very much traumatising to a dog we often forget is still quite young!). His pupils are so small, and he does surely not even really feel the pain in his feet right now. The focus is soley on catching ranach. I truly hope he can make it. Did it before with ferah on the line, laying the trail with her coat back in the day. We know he can endure pain well, and he has had a fair share. I am also so afraid to see everyone once this is over, no matter how it turns out. The looks of hearbreak and devastation will be horrifically sad to see.

Well he still would be surrounded by fire so i doubt he could do much damage and would flee. I also think the light is enough to not make im turn? Idk, curious to learn more about the rules of turning, i just assume he cannot turn as the beats cannot go near light and he is very much near light right now.

Would love to know if some others agree, or if someone sees this from a different perspective! I always love discussing things and maybe seeing things in a different light! Lost of this is ofc speculation, with me writing wbout how i'd feel if ranach outran roamer, but it felt good to write it all down, as it was my first thought seeing the page!

Ok, commenting again because patreon seems to have swallowed my first one RIP.
1st of all, i am super sad Kargo is dead. I have realised today what my issue with his passing was so i thought i would share it. I have no problem accepting that Kargos story was meant to be over here, and i find it a fitting end for him. The Way it was executed, however left me a bit empty and wanting more, wanting him to truly go down fighting, hurt ranach in any way (a little more than just a bite to a non vital part of him that a bit of bark can probably heal within a day or two). My biggest problem however i realised i had was when Kique explained to someone in a comment that he did not wish for Kargos character to feel like a superhero/invincible. But for me killing him in this way was doing the opposite: it seemed to me now, after the third try of taking on ranach of the tribe, be it the first expedition where only a few went out, or the second where the whole tribe went out, and ranach still coming out mostly unharmed and just being able to re-summon avanti again and start the vicious cycle again and again, it feels to me now that Ranach is untouchable and invincible. That he has plot armour for being the big bad villain and being needed for the narrative. Please do not misunderstand me, i am not at all saying this is kiques intent here, it is simply my thoughts on this very emotional chapter/scene so far. (remember feelings do not always have to be reasonable, but i tried my best to explain my train of thought here) That is the reason it left me bitter a bit.
2. The second i saw this page i was so torn down, so defeated. I really hope this does not come true, but it is a speculation of mine that Ranach will yet again get away with all of this. I know many said it would be symbolic of how unfair life is, especially on Aedra (Kique confirmed this in another reply on the previous page i believe). To me, that is frankly unnecessary, again please do not get me wrong i am trying to say that it is important to know but we know it already. Ranach has already taught us this lesson twice now. With the first expedition, many of our beloved characters getting wounded, roamer getting accidentally stabbed in the hip and the second expedition where fuss and jonna were killed by Avanti. Ranach already seemed like an overpowered villain, i really felt hopeless, felt that the only way to survive was to escape the territorry and start again somewhere new (getting to my problem with that plan in a bit here). I was already hopeless and crushed, but then Kargo and Ferah showed up. This spark of hope in the darkness, the chance to defeat ranach finally. But now, that hope again is lost. It feels repetetive to me, not in a nessessarily boring way, but in a frustrating way for sure.
3. Many say Kargos death and Ranach possibly getting away is simply to teach us what i discussed above (aedra is unfair, even the strongest can die, hopelessness, defeat, frustration, unfairness). But as i said above, i already have felt all of that, and i feel it is now time for revenge. For hope, and for a win on our heroes side. Because as i said, otherwise i feel this vicious cycle would just go on forever. They try to fight, no use. They try to run, i feel it is no use either, ranach is out of it, and i feel he would not only follow them but maybe even pick them off one by one seeing them leave. So thats no real option imo either. Then what remains? Just to wait for ranach to attack again? Might as well walk into the night and join the beasts right now then. And that's a dangerous way of thinking, it makes me...numb in a way? To this storyline. Because hopelessness does that. It makes me not care. Like it's useless anyway. They will all suffer, if not die, anyway. Why would i then care? If ranach gets away with it all again, i may have to take a break from the comic. Maybe it will become something i no longer enjoy, a writing style that is just not for me, personally. That is not meant to offend or come off angry it just is the truth. I do not enjoy storylines that teach me the same thing over and over only to yield the same reward. Right now, i trust kique will knw not to go that route, but i do not know anymore to be very honest. Maybe he will, and that is completely fine. He should write the story the way he likes it! I still love and support him. Idk if i explained this okay, but those are my thoughts on the situation.
I truly hope roamer is able to outrun ranach and finish him off, or at least capture him. Although i feel anything less than death will just leave the tribe open for the cycle to go on cause ranach, we know this, will not ever give up, he is too proud and insane for that at this point. I hope roamer proves that he can fight just as well, he is the son of two incredible fighters after all! I love his eyes here, the way his posture changes from shock/heartbreak to pure rage and focus on only one thing: Get ranach. Tear him apart. Please, roamer baby boy, do just that.

My only concern here is that Roamer is running blindly into the night with no light source so will be himself vulnerable to the night beasts!

Oh damn, roamer looks scry when he's angry. I don't recall ever seeing him ths angry before!
Ranach also look terrified! And for good reason!
The thing to note here, is that Ranach has never met Romaer, had no idea he was even with the tribe. Roamer, to Ranach, is a complete stranger. A wildcard.
And now, thier first true meeting? Roamer is enraged, and ranach has taken to flee instead of fight an unknown enemy. Roamer just scaled a burning wall to reach Kargo, and Ranach has no idea of what else Roamer could be capable of. So he's running! Which in this case is a smart thing to do. Rnaach is injured, and doesn't have any information of who could be about to fight. Fleeing the scene is the smart thing to do at this time.
Roamer is likely running of pure rage, but rage can make a bod blind to the dangers around them, or the pain they're in. And both things hold true for Roamer right now. Ranach stopped to grabb a torch, and fled into the dark. Roamer follows him, but he has no light for protection. Doubly so, he chases on burnt paws, which may eventually fell him, and leave him vulnerable to either Ranach, or the nightbeasts.

I am glad to see Roamer filled with pure rage charging to face Ranach on blistered paws, that is true passion. However I am still completely disappointed we saw Kargo ended just like that, just gone, left there in a pool of blood alone on top of a burning wall. Sure there are feelings being had here obvious grief and I am sure from Ferah on the other side and Ronja. But to see Kargo again taken down /this/ easy, a passionate dog that was just starting his real story. Who had just uncovered his power and reason for it, who had just learned how to properly love and move on and have brothers and a whole new outlook on life. I just don't agree that Rogio needed to live because his story is just starting and Kargo's arc is "complete" because it sure doesn't feel that way. I personally just don't see it that way if I am totally honest. Kargo had a whole lot more potential that was totally robbed from him and Rogio is walking away just fine with some scratches. I just do not vibe with any of it right now.
