This is an epic page I love Roamer

WolfieYote

Romaers expression is so intense here, and yet, you can still see the grief in his eyes. I really gotta applaud you Kique for just how much emotion you have your characters show! Ranach escaped, which i thought would happen after roamer fell. Vital time was lost between that point and when the others arrived. Enough time for an escape. That he's ehaded south had me wonderig just where he may go. I've seen some mention jahlas tribe, but i don't think he would got here. He hasn't met Jahla i don't think, and he might likely be cautious about the fact that she and Thakir have glowing lights upon thier heads, and such long fangs(And size difference?). He's probably avoid them a lot, plus the whole wolf thing overall since it seems to be causing Jahla some problems overall in getting her tribe started. I think, the more likely place he will eventually end up, is Southspear. They are a tribe of Outlaws, which, Ranach most certainly is now. For those that remain in meteor territory, i truly wonder how they will fare. They're down a warrior. And down the protection the wall offered after the flmaed burnt it down. The territory is wide open to the ghould, and they'll have to work around the clock to keep that covered. It makes me wonder if they'll reach out to thier closest neighbours, the Whispervales. Granted, the poor reputation of meteor will make it hard, but with how things have been changing, perhaps it will open up the road to thier first alliance in a long time.

Luae

It may take a night or two after they died.

Kique Nordin

I agree, it makes it more compelling to know nobody is safe. But I think people aren't necessarily mad/disappointed/whatever about the fact that Kargo died but rather about how he died.

Yami

So quick question how long does it take before a dead body turns into Ghoul? To keep Kargo from changing do they need to hurry with burning his body before he turns or they good? o:

VonTriggers

Personally I really like what kique has done, it's so rare for an author to put all their characters at that risk of death. Death sucks, it is unsatisfying and that's exactly what will drive the other characters forward. The danger that any of them could be on the chopping block adds additional danger and excitement. I hate watching a series knowing that the main cast are safe because you know no matter what dangers they are up against they will always survive. No one is safe and that is compelling

Kisumi

I have faith that Kargo's death was not in vain. Something will come of it. You don't kill a main character off as a plot device, you do it for something huge to happen in the story. But still, it hurts. I've loved Kargo since we were introduced to him and it feels so unfair that he *finally* had a sliver of peace only to die. But, that is how the world often works, especially this world, it seems. And poor Ferah. That was her best friend, her brother, her platonic soulmate. My heart hurts for her more than it does for anyone else. Whatever happens next, I certainly hope Ranach eventually meets a very slow and painful death.

Moki

100000000000000% agree. Literally all of this. I've loved this story but this arc just... it was mishandled, I think.

Kitsune

patience

Kique Nordin

Where's Ferah? Where's Ferah's reaction to the death of her brother, the one who kept her safe for so long. That moved mountains to keep her from harm. I want Ferah's tears, not Roamer's. Roamer, who has only been in Aedra for 100 days, doesn't deserve to cry over someone he barely knew. Gdi, I don't make comments well beyond small sentences but Kargo's death has to be the most unsatisfying thing next to learning Avanti didn't crumble and burn. It was quick. It was useless. A simple knife took down a dog that fought off a bear, two merchants and Savas. An entire goddamn tribe. And some measly, weak willed dog just stabs him. Say what you will, defend it how you want, but that was handled so sloppily not even a puppy would eat such a mess. Kargo deserves so much better. And I want to see Ferah's tears. I want her breaking down over the death of him. Isn't that what we deserve? She is a main character after all. She was his best friend.

Karlos

On second thought, maybe if we saw bits of Kargo being unhinged and his mentality being so influenced by Roamer being romantic with him I may feel differently. But from what we've seen Kargo do and be before in the story, he is rational, hell he and Ferah had to be to survive being hunted most their lives (here Roamer is enraged and wants to kill but for the pair they knew the reality kill or be killed by meteor dogs especially Ranach). Kargo is quick to defend and fight for those he loves (we never saw him kill for sport before or rage out on random non meteor dogs he didn't personally know) and defensive of his actions (hiding the fact Ronja was at MT and him wanting to stay in a relationship with Roamer) but wasn't a crazy unhinged murderer, we wouldn't have Roamer if he was. Even the conflict he had with Rogio is a mystery still, I'm beginning to think their past was only as males living in a horrible tribe and Rogio was too deep into Ranach's manipulation to leave. Did they have a deep friendship/romance? Did Kargo resent Rogio for tricking new dogs to come to the tribe that were killed during the escape that he grew to care about? What emotions were there besides 'Rogio took my lover' for Kargo to attack him like a monster out of vengeance? Why did Kargo and Rogio himself believe he deserved a bludgeoning? Again it just felt like we needed a problematic dog to die and Kargo was made to fit the bill. I see a lot of comments about Rogio but I won't comment so much on his arc because I'm completely indifferent to his character and/or whatever happens to him at this point. If you look at this as a development for Ranach's story, he got a huge win. Killed the dog that kickstarted his bloodlust, one of the two dogs that are a living stain on the MT's absolute power over their tribe members. And got away with a wobble he could still outrun two healthy dogs with.

InnocentVision

Not in screen if it ever did happen.

Fatesmishap

this is a bit random... but was there ever a confrontation between roamer and ferah about keeping ronja at the meteor tribe a secret? ferah basically forced kargo into silence and when kargo finally did the right thing and told the truth he was the only one punished for it and lost roamer in the process.

Hannah P

I feel like a lot of people would think this is great compared to the ending of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones lmao.

AmnesiaMoons

I dont think he was burned yet, looking at the state of the cloth.

AmnesiaMoons

I dunno...I am really disappointed of the whole thing. Kargo dying felt incredible off, with Rogio being completely fine, despite the fact Avanti was the killer beast while Ranach was not. But okay, have it that way, while I agree with many others that it felt not right, more so that he is out of the way now and serves only as a motivation for Roamers anger...it could have been done right. For example, having one and a half page Kargo being on top, being the strong dog he was supposed to be and THEN things shift. Rogio, Avanti and the pup fleeing, having a hide and seek in the mountain/forest with Avanti instead of Avanti just not killing him in time. There could have been a lot more opportunities to make that whole thing not that pointless as it was, at least for me. I dont think it was Kargos time to go just after thinking "well Roamer is fine" cause, like others said, it was Roamers story in a way, not his, but okay, I could have live with Kargo dying if done differently. So? Just dont feel a thing, it was completely weird. I wont go into the whole Rogio abuse thing, I have my very own opinion about that but that's okay, peoples opinions differs. Rogio himself is a character I used to like, but now, I dunno. I think his relationship with Roamer and the fact how everyone reacted on him vs Kargo, when it was incredible clear both suffered, really made him barely likeable for me, but maybe he'll do something that will suprise me. Ranach however? I dont even care he escaped, it feels like TWD all over again, villain surives, escapes and will come back and nearly everyone is annoyed. I dunno, like others said, Aedra has so many grey charcters and politics and nightbeasts, why does this story need THE villain? He is no Ranulfr with different layers for me, he is just that...annoying. I know that's a lot to take in and barely anything positiv and I am sorry for that. The end of the chapter really disppointed me so far, I've to admit. Maybe it will get better, but for now, I dunno, it did kill my enjoyment a bit.

Kuni

At least Naraku was generally badly injured and canonically damn near immortal.

Kitsune

Not gonna lie, the fact that Ranach escaped again makes me think of him as the Naraku of home. (Naraku from Inuyasha for those who've never heard of him.)

Celosese

Well said!

Peentz

How the hell did Ranach not trip or stumble with his injuries? How was he not captured? First we get this grossly unsatisfying death of Kargo and then, true to everyone's prediction, somehow a Ranach who was visibly wobbling outran two healthy uninjured dog? I'm disappointed. This sequence has killed the excitement of the story for me. It feels like Ranach is only still around because of this false idea of "we need a villain". Which... no, a story needs antagonists, not necessarily villains. Home has plenty of antagonists, not the least of which is Aedra itself. Kargo's story, like Zilas's, still had a lot of places it could go: Kargo's journey of becoming a better dog, learning to let go of his pain. Maybe reconnecting with Roamer and Rogio in a healthy way. Maybe turning himself in to the Solar Stag tribe! Just because a story comes "full circle" doesn't mean it's over and the character is prime to be killed off. And Ranach escaping on top of that is just... gross. I'm frustrated and disappointed and I'm not sure I can continue reading after this. This doesn't feel like a black moment, this feels like a slap in the face. Like with Zilas, it feels like Kargo's death is only going to be used to motivate other characters. Which Kique promised wasn't the case back on dA but that is what Zilas's death turned into. Whatever is said, to many readers it didn't feel like Kargo's story was done, it felt like it was only beginning. The tale of recovery and redemption was still there to be told.

Kitsune

While this wasn´t the chapter finale everybody was hoping for, it was a fitting one. Reminds me of the poll "Who do you think will die - think, not want". We wanted a more epic battle, more confrontation, more of Rogio doing things. But honestly, this all fits Aedra. It´s unfair and frustrating how Kargo died, but also kind of beautiful. He gave his life for Ferah. He could have easily fought Ranach, but chose not to. Like Ranach said "love makes you weak". And Rogio went and did what he was told to - protect Mom and pup. Facing Avanti despite knowing he stood no likely chance. How is he playing the "victim card". I think he did well. Moreover, I think there will be so much more for him and Ranach to come.

Aerophoinix

I feel like there may be development for Marduk to become antagonistic. The way he spoke to Kainan early before their hunt, and Piccolo’s uneasiness make me think something may be there that has yet to come to light.

Danie Camach

This arc kinda disappointed me. For a long time I've haven't really liked Roamer's story line. The messy romance, the inaction from Rogio about the Ranach situation, I personally didn't think Kargo would just kill random dogs but I went along, and finally the never ending chase of Ranach, even after he killed probably the strongest dog around besides midnightgarde's leader. I don't think Kargo was necessarily wrong with how he felt about Roamer going with Rogio after just a few spent with him. Somehow it seems like all this suffering Kargo went through self-inflicted (like murdering two random dogs) or not (whole Roamer situation, Ranach and the tribe he spent most of his life trying to escape) was for no reason. Even though I do still believe it was out of character for him to murder random dogs, I at least thought that it could lead to a new story for Kargo where he faces his responsibility and stops running for once. Maybe even find purpose outside of protecting Ferah after he realizes she is well protected by her love interest. I thought it would be nice to see how the world operates more in terms of law and order, maybe even rehabilitation. Instead he suffers even more mentally, romantically, finds out he is cursed and dies. I guess deep down I just feel like Kargo got punished as a character for no good reason and no one else did, and the way the story is unraveling it was deserved. Especially after he committed double murder, it just felt forced to paint this character as bad or at the very least broken, shift his and Ferah's narratives and story arcs so that Kargo can go back to a tribe/place he spent most of his life running from and protecting Ferah from to die in a very anti-climatic way, jump started by his broken heart cause his ex lover left him to stay in said tribe. Like he seriously went crazy when Roamer left him... That's wild to me. I don't know I just don't like how it all played out. Sure it may paint the unfairness but what other purpose does his death serve from a narrative standpoint? It's hard for me to find other reasons besides the ones I stated, especially for a main character and we've already gotten other realistic examples. Avanti was shown to learn as she continues to hunt and killed swiftly without mercy, here she sluggishly attacks Rogio. Kargo is cursed with the strength of a bear which we saw proven when he killed one, then right after he killed two males without a scratch but here he is taken down without much struggle. It just felt like the plot moved these characters more than the characters themselves if that makes sense. So they could be in place to serve these plot points. But my question still remains why, we've been hunting Ranach for what seems like ages, after the death of two tribe members and all the suffering they went through under his rule, you're telling me Kargo's death is the final straw? The final umph this arc needs. To me personally it shouldn't be. Now I just look forward to the other arcs. The story is kinda starting to make me feel indifferent about reading it for now, especially when it focuses on the meteor tribe recently.

InnocentVision

Same. Kargo dying the way he did AND Ranach escaping is just... that kinda kills my desire to keep reading.

Kitsune

I'm very disappointed that he escaped but I could see it coming a mile away. Ranach arc really should've ended here in all honesty. He's become more of a nuisance than an actual solid villain and I can't see him doing much more than what he has done today. His story feels very uninteresting now especially when he lost his greatest weapon. Without it, he's a coward and nothing more. I rather we have a villain that will not only cause trouble for our main characters but someone who will cause it for Aedra. Rohgir is a selfish prick but I can't see him truly becoming like his father, I feel like things will be stopped before it escalates with him but who knows. I guess after reading Asmundr we already saw the plot where a villain tried to destroy the main character's home and also tried to kill some of them and we have seen it with Ranach for a while too but now I'm kind of hoping for something or someone new.

One hundred days changed Roamer's so much... He looks much older now, here's someone to be reckoned with. Ranach hurt a lot of dogs, who are important to Roamer - Rogio, Ronja, Ferah, now he killed Kargo. I think he may most rights to kill this bastard. I wonder what Rogio may feel in this moment. Watching on such devastation and chaos which did the one who he loved once. And sitting next to his current love, who suffer, beacuse his former love was killed by Rogio's former love. This is so twisted! I imagine he think about how he was able to love such a monster. Maybe he even feel guilty? I wonder how his character will be develop, I want to watch more of him. Now he has the chance to do something, help with Ranach's case instead of hiding from his past feelings. He knows Ranach more than others do. And for me the best what they can do is rid of Ranach for good instead of waiting again to the very end for his move. I wonder what Ranach will do now? Try to bond with Avanti again? But maybe her curse is broken permanently? I feel sorry for MT, they will never sleep peacefully until Ranach dies for good. Although he ran away like a coward, for now he's the winner in some way - he finally killed his greatest enemy. And I don't quite understand such hate from readers on Kargo's death. He has his redemption, he saved a life instead of taking it. I feel sorry for him, but I think it was supposed to be such emotional thing - Kargo starting understand himself, wants to change, accepted that Roamer love Rogio, finally he is in peace with himself and others. And than - he dies. It's poetical in some way.

Syria_Black

Definitely not picking on him. I'm sorry if it came off that way :/ that was why I mentioned in my comment about me seeing it both ways. I know what depression feels like (no need to go into details) You're right. We don't know his backstory. We caught a glimpse into Ranach's and it helped (me at least) to sympathize with puppy Ranach. Rogio has been a rollercoaster for me. Moments I like him more and others I like him less. He's a complex and multi-layered individual. He was put in a position of power in the tribe, however. Baron is second-in-command. I know that there are two Barons, but that doesn't make his position any less important. Like, just because there are two Barons doesn't mean he can slack off (and I'm not saying that he is) what I am saying is that Rogio has a terrible past (most of which is unknown to us) and he is still mentally scarred from the old Meteor Tribe menatality. He should never have accepted the position if he mentally wasn't able to handle the responsibility of the title.

Kinder

I honestly don't get you people picking on Rogio - we still know NOTHING about his past before Meteor Tribe, only that he arrived there more dead than alive. Yes, he was the suffering part of an abusive relationship and no, you just don't shake that off and continue your life like nothing happened. In my opinion, saying he should "grow a pair" equals telling a person suffering from depression to "get over it"! I really hope we will learn more about his backstory someday, because for me he is a rather interesting character.

lynxir

Seems just to be Kargo's body under a blanket or fur maybe? It isn't really visible on my laptop either.

lynxir

Now if only u was this determined to find Ronja or ur pack like u are to find ran, who cn say what could’ve happened. And hopefully the tribe will actually be ready fr an attack next time.

Jasiri

I see a lot of people stating it was actually fitting for Kargo, that things are unfair and so on. That many people are "complaining" but I just don't see it that way at least that simply. It still felt terribly unsatisfying personally, he got killed in no time flat and had his powers completely retracted during it all. Rogio is still scotch free and while he had his moment of getting chomped on while saying he deserved it. He I'm afraid will never have to go through what Kargo did despite carrying out orders and not helping many while he had full opportunities to. Yes he was a "victim" but only to so much of a degree does love blind that bad and I still wish he had to face that with Roamer and others sometime and fully apologize. No debilitating scars mark his body minus a notched ear and minor wounds, everything is just about accepted with Rogio and things are just moved forward along with him literally walking away with no scratches in any form that'll stay with him. I'm not trying to totally bash on things but it is some real solid armor he has mantained while we watched Kargo pay the price for everything. Now with his life due his story needing to be over and it just can't quite sit with me right.

Comet

RIP Kargo. You will be missed

❁bimph❁

I kinda wanna add that I think it would be so cool when Ronja has her puppies and they grow hating Ranach so much, that when he gets executed or killed, they will be there to watch with Rogio. How cool would it be if they caught him on fire like or tore him up, ending the 'reign' of Ranach's line.

AmnesiaMoons

I wonder if the main focus being Rogio on this page means anything for the future. Seeing all of the guilt he's feeling right now, I wonder what gears are turning in his head. And if we don't get to see Ferah, Roamer, and Ronja all take Ranach down in a finale I will flip xP Gonna be real tired of his shit if it's same stuff different day with his cheating ass. At least now the tribe can try and reach out for help.

Farvardin

I would get so angry if he did lol. Does Jahla know about him? I don't remember but I think not.

Almasi

I know a lot of people are upset over the way Kargo died, but I gotta say it's kinda satisfying for me. I didn't see that big reaveal as another "oh this means a lot of new possibilities!" Nah, we knew something was going on with Ferah and Kargo, the spirits were just confirmation. Don't get me wrong, it was unfair, but it's not angry unfair to me. Its...sad. Kargo using all that strength woulf have been really dumb to me. I think we did need to loose him in a way, to be angry with the character we startee with; Roamer. Him dying to protect and prioritizing the ones he cared for is a lot more emotional to me peraonally. I don't think I want to see Ferah though, not after this at least. We already know she isn't doing well. Poor girl.

AmnesiaMoons

Failed to mention as well... I would whole-heartedly be blaming Rogio for all this. He had a chance to stop Ranach the first time (when Fuss and Jonna were killed) and now we can lay Kargo's death at his feet as well. Who else needs to fall before Rogio steps up and faces his demons? I can see it both ways, though...which drives me crazy! Lol. Nothing is ever black and white. Rogio was mentally, physically, and emotionally abused for the majority of his life. I'm not excusing his lack of confidence or his unwillingness to face Ranach ( he stepped up and protected Vandi and Akleja) I just know that at least 3 lives could have been spared had he grew a pair and faced Ranach (and had his tribe help him defeat him.)

Kinder

Called it, of course he got away... Now Kargo is dead for nothing and now I feel like any confrontation with Ranach after this will be underwhelming since the best fighter in the story is dead. Feels like some stakes are gone, this whole confrontation felt like it was supposed to be the main one and it kinda fizzled for me not gonna lie. It feels... weird. Not sure how to articulate it.

Peentz

South? Hopefully he doesnt stray so far, imagine if he took sanctuary at jahla's new tribe

Demmz

Roamer has grown so much as a character. He broke down because of his failure of catching Ranach...but here? My boy has some righteous anger flowing through him. We were able to see his moment of weakness, and now he is dead set on destroying Ranach. He took on the mantle of Baron and now he will make sure that the Meteor Tribe is safe. I hate that Ranach got away, but it will make the final battle between them even better. Kargo and Ferah opened their home and their lives up to Roamer. Roamer was Kargo's first love. Without their vital information, Roamer would have been lost on Aedra. When I saw the page of everyone dancing and Kargo finally accepting Roamer and Rogio being together, I saw that page as a foreshadowing. Didnt know it would result in his death, but I knew it would be something big. Alot of people are complaining over Kargo's death. Am I truly happy about it? No, of course not. Kargo was the first new character we met and he was such a complex character. But, Kique has a plan for the comic. Just the fact that this comic has people in the comment section lamenting over a fictional characters death shows how great of a story teller Kique is. Thank you, Kique, for creating a story and characters I have fallen in love with :)

Kinder

Oh Roamer... Ranach sure changed you, for what he has done to your loved ones. To your friends, to your family, and to your lover. and 100 days. the first 30 of them you didn't even know of the outside the former Asmundr territory. From that more or less innocent roaming pup you were, you now feel like you're a killer, at least of wanting to kill Ranach and that one guard you killed. is mother Niita was right back in Asmundr: "Today made me realize that it's not possible to live in this world if you don't have a killer inside you. All of us have wished pain upon others or are prepared to cause it ourselves." She may have spoken on Earth, but it's even bigger truth on Aedra...

Tora Collita

Roamer, I sincerely hope that day comes very soon. I'm so done with Ranach and his ability to constantly weasel himself out of everything without much damage at this point. I've never been more done with a fictional character before in my entire life. I really start to believe he prayed to the "spirit of fleeing from ANY situation without problem" <.< And...are there two bodies on the bonfire? Can't really tell, its too small on my phone ._.

Yami

Rest in peace, Kargo... may you be free amongst the stars. As for Roamer... this doesn't just mark the day of hate or vengeance for him, it marks the beginning of his desire to end Ranach once and for all.

Spiritstrike

RIP Kargo. F you, Ranach!

Michelle Koenders

Kargo😢💔

Yoyo

I love this comic and have been a fan of the story since mid Asmundr. But losing Kargo the way we have has really hit my inspiration to read really hard ;_; I hope there’s a pick up to respark.

iiPaw

Roamer looks very adult while sitting there! Might just be the angry face.
