With a grunt, the dragon shifted against the rock it was sleeping on, finding it no longer as comfortable as it was a few hours earlier. Yawning its sleepiness away, it used its clawed wings to latch on to the nearest stone pillar, and climbed it. Its long, snakey body wrapped around it as its head slowly examined its surroundings. From there, it could see at least one of its three other halves, busy leaping after some imaginary rodent between the rocks of their cavern. The others were nowhere to be seen, but the crown sitting atop its head slightly shifted; it told the dragon they were nearby, just as they should be. With another grunt, Landia perched itself more lazily against the pillar; this was surprisingly more comfortable than the flat rock...
The crown on its head then began to tingle, and Landia raised its head again. Someone was approaching their domain... an Halcandran. Squinting its eyes in frustration, the dragon sighed, and opened its large wings, ready to leap down from its perch to go and hunt this intruder down.
This drawing is sort of a remake of this old one from back in 2015:
Oh man oh man. If I wanted to see progress, here it is! I'm starting to really like this design of Landia I'm going with, it's a bit easier for me to draw than the actual stubby design from the games. It's actually the design I'm using in my head when I write Landia in Act 2 of A New Age, which you will see once I actually finish writing it. It just feels more threatening than the potato with wings we have in the games. (No offense Landia, I love you!)
All in all, this drawing was really fun to work on, the scales and the level of detail I was going for really add on to the atmosphere I wanted for it, and I'm really satisfied with how it came out.
