Contest Prize - Predaking
Added 2017-09-18 19:58:14 +0000 UTCThis was a contest prize for someone on dA who won second place, they won a speedpaint of the character of their choice, and they chose Predaking, from Transformers. I did it in about 2h (not counting the sketch).
This guy was a real challenge for me, because I almost never delve into mechanical creatures/objects, so the end result looks a bit more organic than his actual design, but I actually quite like it like that. The way his face was shaped reminded me of giant worm creatures, so the shape of the head in the drawing ended up being influenced by that thought as well. Overall, this was an interesting piece to work on!
