Pool of Stars

No matter what he tried, Ryuu could not sleep, and after hours of turning in his bed and listening to his neighbor Azelea snore, he decided it was just useless to try any more. The night air was fresh, and a relief for his young mind. Making sure not to walk by any other Wyngrews that could still be up at this ridiculous hour, he walked in the shadows and headed out of town. As soon as he was out of Wynsiph's streets, he felt a little bit better...
He walked on and on in the fields surrounding the town, his mind flying away into the night, and he only stopped walking once his eyes caught something particularly interesting. It was a pond, in the middle of the field. At first glance, it was as normal as any pond could be, but for an observant eye like his own, this pond was the sky. In its perfectly still waters, he could see all of the stars reflecting off its mirror surface, and as he stood there, mesmerized by this sight, he felt pulled into another world. He felt pulled into infinity. Slowly, he sat down, and eventually, he laid on his side by the pond, wishing he could go into this strange other world and be a part of it. Perhaps if he did, he wouldn't feel as lonely as he did here... Perhaps there was something in this other world, waiting for him... Perhaps...
Another speedpaint of my little Wyngro Ryuu, this time with a little story to go with it. I'm trying to understand what his character could be like, instead of just being grumpy for the fun of being grumpy. It seems he sure could use a friend...
