The Daikma Shrine, located at the tip of the lonely Dai Peninsula, in the eastern-most land of Lumalisse, is one of many sacred temples spread across the world of Etaliari. This shrine in particular is of great importance to Ikrouks, for it is here that all Elders reunite every few milenia, so that their heirs may be blessed by the spirit of the Dragon who resides inside. Only a heir that has been blessed by the spirit may be worthy of leading their land; for many, this is the ultimate trial in becoming an Elder.
This spirit is said to be one of the nine Black Dragons sent by the Gods to purify this land during the First Age, and is one of the only ones who still keeps in contact with the Ikrouk kind. The shrine is constantly guarded, day and night, and though anyone is allowed to pray at its doors, it is obligatory to have the autorisation of Elder Kaplia, the current Matriarch of Lumalisse, in order to actually enter the shrine. The shrine was built at the dawn of the Ikrouk age, using rare gravity crystals that grow on the shoreline of Lumalisse. It is common to see Dragons and Key-an fly by the shrine, but never do they ever roost upon it, as if they too know of the great spirit who lives inside.
I am finally done with this drawing! Some of you might remember that I started this months ago, but never really finished it, for some reason. Took me some time, but I finally went back and finished it to start the year off with a push! It's not my best, it was mostly practice with buildings and landscape concepts in general, but it was fun, and I learned a lot with it.
