Day 31 - Beast

“The Beast was a hideous creature. Malformed in every way, neither quadrupedal nor bipedal, not a reptile and even less a mammal, not many even dared call it a living being. The Beast was aware of the harsh judgement coming from those it had grown to call “the Others”, but it did not understand why it was so. Where the Others saw a horrible monster who would snatch away their children in the dead of night, the Beast was in fact a very gentle creature. A bit slow, yes, but it was kind and generous. It was unaware of those things called “beauty” and “elegance”, and instead thrived on gentleness and kindness. But of course, the Others would never see that. All they saw… was its name. A Beast.”
