Smaugust 2020 - Godflame Dragon

Unfortunately I'm unable to participate for the whole month, but in exchange I'll be doing a few of these rendered paintings of dragons! Because I'm still in a big Blue Exorcist fever, I'll be basing them on characters from the series, and what a better way to start than with the main antagonist, Satan! I went with his true form as he appears in Gehenna for inspiration, which is honestly one of the best representations of Satan I've ever seen in any modern media; a black tower atop which is a mound of wriggling corpses and flesh, with his eternal blue flame on top of that. It is so simple yet so effective, and I felt it would come out really cool as a dragon!
Overall I'm happy with the result here! I rendered it a bit more than I thought I was going to originally, it turns out I love painting flesh more than I thought. Trying to up my horror/gore art a touch lately!
