"And they both stood in utter shock with their beaks opened in silent gasps, as they watched the tall stranger as he utterly destroyed the Zara that had attacked them. The screams of the beast echoed in the air, becoming more and more gurgled and cut off with each new hit to its mangled face... until it moved no more, reduced to a twitching splatter on the forest floor. And the stranger turned back to them, their once white mask now coated in the orange blood of the creature."
Fun fact: Mask knows very well how to use any tool to his advantage in a fight against a Zara. That includes sticks and torches. Thinking of turning this scene into a short Tales of Home comic, that'd be pretty interesting!
About 10 - Rest:
This is actually a concept for a painting that I had started a few months back but never really continued for some reason. So I decided to take it back and use it here! The flower growing in Mask's ribcage is an Arkuzia's Tear, one of Rillaya's favourite flowers. There's some meaning somewhere in there, but I'll let you have fun thinking about the symbolism here. I just love drawing skeletons lately.
