I wonder if Ranach is going to wonder why the skull that had no meaning for anyone other than Rogio was moved to this unburnt, clearly manually dismantled hut. Even if he successfully deflects Iberon from actively pursuing that thought by distracting him with the past (which I think is what he's doing here - he wants to know about Iberon but he also DEFINITELY wants to distract Iberon from what's in front of him atm) Kargo tried telling him that Rogio was alive with his dying breath, and here's another breadcrumb of evidence. For all his flaws and shit nature Ranach /is/ a smart guy, so my wondering is whether he'll piece together that it's possible for Rogio to actually be alive. Let those cogs turn. Let him ponder that "what if" and wonder, if it WAS true, what does that mean to him? Does he want to move on? Does he still want to try to take Rogio back? If Rogio IS alive and Ranach decides that he still does want him how far is he willing to go to force Rogio back to his side? Or will he weigh the idea of closing that chapter of his life and look to embracing the lie he created as a new version of himself? It would be interesting to see Ranach decide that he wants to pursue the whole 'down with the Capital, help the systematically oppressed' not just as a ruse to destroy NG/MT but for... If not Iberon (and Southspear, I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if at some point he has formed some kind of bond with other members even if we haven't had time to see it. They're traveling together I'm sure there's been small talk at the least) then for the idea of doing something that makes him important, admired, maybe even /heroic/ to a group.
