FULL WATCHALONG ~ DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) is the kind of movie that tosses subtlety out the window and runs it over—twice—just to make sure. From the very first frame, it’s like the filmmakers said, “Let’s grab literally everything we have in our bag of tricks and fling it at the audience at Mach 10.” And you know what? It totally works. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have the kind of chemistry that makes you wonder if they’re secretly telepathic—every joke, one-liner, and side-eye feels perfectly timed to deliver maximum comedic blowback.

But don’t be fooled by the endless wisecracks—there’s real emotion woven into the lunacy, enough to make you care about these chaos magnets even when the screen is so stuffed with Easter eggs you need a hunting license to keep track. The callbacks and cameos could fill a day’s worth of nerd convention panels, but they slide in so smoothly (sort of) that you can’t help but grin every time another familiar face pops up.

And then there’s the action, which is basically a non-stop spree of “Oh, that’s gotta hurt”—like they took every fight scene from the previous Deadpool and Wolverine flicks, ramped them up to 11, and unleashed them in a single street corridor to watch fans lose their collective minds. The intro alone practically screams, “Buckle up, kids—this is gonna be bonkers,” and by the time we reach the final showdown, you’re wondering how many more references, sight gags, and on-screen heart-to-hearts they can cram into one movie.

Answer: a lot. A glorious, borderline illegal amount, all backdropped by a soundtrack that’s as entertaining as the rapid-fire jokes. If you’ve been starving for an R-rated comedic bloodbath with a surprising emotional core, here’s your 10-course meal. Sure, you might feel a little overstuffed by the end, but hey, that’s the price you pay for a banquet of absolute comic-book madness. And given the final hints at what might come next, I’m already preparing myself for the next buffet of batsh*t fun.

Let's fucking go! I watched this in the theater and it was great seeing all the nods to 20th Century Fox. The part that really got me was the mid credits video using “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” since it was the song used at my high school graduation in 1999. I read a lot of X-Men comics growing up and my favorite character from them is Wolverine. I never read any Deadpool comics but thanks to Ryan Reynolds he is now a HUGE favorite of mine.

You should absolutely watch Blade Trinity, if nothing else from the trash heap...

And thx, T. 'Frumpy Foreskin' is my new favorite phrase.

Finally! You're a badass for avoiding spoilers and watching all the prerequisite films. Zero shit given. + Amazing blanket! That wavy stitch is rad. My wife has been making scarves for weeks! Cheers!
