The Slimes might have a natural base form that's the most comfortable for them. Taking on a more elaborate human shape might require a lot of strength, time and training if it's something more elaborate than squeezing through a crack. While it could be fun for a player to instantly change shape in the game, realistically, perhaps any new form could require some rewiring of the brain, and body regrowth/modification taking days. Perhaps most average-joe Slimes get by just fine using their basic abilities.
Ships are WIP. I might limit jump-capable ship sizes to 30-120m. Shuttles can be smaller and are used for landing (so I won't have to design 120m long tail-sitters and such). Stations can be larger so defensive stations would outclass single ships (murderhobos). This might also contribute to the stability of the Imperium... it's difficult to invade other systems. It's possible to accelerate an asteroid to lunatic impact speeds I suppose, but like most sci-fi settings I'll just have to completely ignore or lampshade that problem (sentry information net, maybe a displacer / misjump gadget).
