X-COM Avenger
Added 2022-02-27 19:14:22 +0000 UTCAnd here's the Avenger. I was trying to give it a bit of a turtle shell look. I angled the hull sides inward to make it a little bit more interesting than a plain tile box. I put some Macross Valkyrie intakes on the front edge of the shell to echo what I did with the Skyranger intakes (and also borrowed some other details).
The Nacelles are a bit long so I decided against turning them and put some landing thrusters in the hull instead. I think the nacelles might echo a bit of Star Trek since it's the Avenger that can go to Mars, so they can be mainly used for go-fast and not landing maneuvers. As a design rule in Star Trek the nacelles must have line-of-sight between them as there's some field stuff happening, but that doesn't apply here of course.
The enemy UFOs are even more tile-boxy, but perhaps some cool stuff could be made with edge tiles. I might have a go at one of those next.
