Last Armageddon
Added 2025-02-28 22:50:42 +0000 UTCLast Armageddon is a Japanese RPG which I had a soft spot for until I learned about its convoluted story and quirky gameplay through a fan translation. It's general idea with regular monsters vs twisted monsters vs vs robots vs aliens is fun and kind of "metal". If nothing else its intro is worth watching. I think the game would be more fun as a Pokémon or Digimon slant. Anyway, I wanted to draw and modify some of the designs from it.
The playable monsters are:
Minotaur, Cyclops, Sphinx, Snake, Goblin, Slime, Skeleton, Harpy, Ork, Dragonnewt, Gargoyle
...but they have a whole bunch of evolutions.
There's an even larger amount of enemies an no colour swaps like in the Final Fantasy games. I'm not sure if I've even seen a game with a larger amount of hand drawn designs.

It's always been unreal to me how much Arne's work just resonates with my soul. He's like this godfather of western GenX indy otaku/nerd art. Despite being an industry veteran. We definitely drank from the same well.
