Sacred Gear Omnitrix Ch. 4

Chapter 4: The Mysterious gear.

-0-

A week had passed, and nothing cool or unusual had happened. The only thing that filled my days was training trying to understand how to properly use the Omnitrix.

Through constant trial and error, I came to realize that I could only transform into the original ten aliens from the classic series. The transformations lasted for about five minutes, which was… frustrating, to say the least.

This sacred gear was supposed to be the strongest of all, yet its limitations made it feel incomplete — downgraded. The thought gnawed at me every time I looked at it. I wanted to remove that limit somehow. Still, that wasn’t the only thing fueling my curiosity. Something deeper was stirring within me, pushing me to find answers.

So I decided that the next day, I’d consult Rias about it.

---

“Levy! Wake up, you dweeb! Your sleepy ass is gonna get me late!”

Clara’s voice echoed from behind the door, followed by a series of loud, impatient bangs that made it sound like she was drumming for war.

I groaned and rubbed my face. Ever since she came into our house, my peace had been under constant assault. It was a daily battle of nerves — and freedom was the first casualty.

Dragging myself from bed, I moved like a winter soldier just thawed out of ice and opened the door. For a brief moment, I considered transforming — maybe to give her a scare — but I stopped myself. My family didn’t know about the Omnitrix yet, though I was sure they’d started noticing something was off.

Clara especially.

Sometimes, just to mess with her, I’d transform into something small and wreak havoc — tearing through her stuff, leaving her bras hanging everywhere, tossing her underwear around. My personal payback for every headache she caused me. But somehow, she never broke. Her spirit was unshaken, as if she knew exactly what I was doing and refused to give me the satisfaction of seeing her flustered.

“Hey,” I said, glaring at her. “Can’t you knock like a civilized person? Just because today’s your first day reporting doesn’t mean you have to be a pain to society.”

Her eyes narrowed, but I didn’t stop. “And besides, Kuoh Academy doesn’t appreciate flat-chested girls. You’ll probably get avoided like the plague.”

That hit was supposed to sting, but Clara didn’t even flinch. Her expression stayed stone cold.

“Oh yeah?” she shot back. “Then why do you always steal my bras? And don’t pretend you don’t talk to me while I’m in the shower — just for an excuse to peek, you pervert.”

I winced slightly. Okay, that was low.

She stepped closer, her tone sharpening. “And don’t act all high and mighty. I know about your reputation at school. So if you don’t mind, don’t ever tell anyone we’re cousins. I don’t need you infecting my life.”

Before I could reply, she threw my socks at my face — unwashed ones, no less.

“Oh, and one more thing,” she added as she turned to leave. “Grandpa said if you leave your dirty clothes hanging everywhere again, you’re cleaning the entire house for a month.”

The door slammed behind her. I stood there, fuming silently. One day, I swore, I’d knock that high-and-mighty attitude right off her face.

---

After getting ready, I left for school. Nothing exciting there — just another normal day.

Well, except I prayed I wouldn’t end up in the same class as that menace. But of course, my luck decided to betray me.

“Sit down, students,” the teacher said. “Today we have a new transfer student among us.”

The door slid open.

In walked a blonde girl — her golden hair flowing down in smooth waves, her features perfectly sculpted, every curve in the right place. She looked like Eve herself had decided to attend high school. The entire class went silent.

Matsuda and Motohama were practically drooling.

I couldn’t help but smirk. If they only knew she was my cousin… what would they do? The thought alone was too good — a grin spread across my face. Clara noticed it immediately and frowned, clearly reading the evil thoughts running through my head.

“My name is Clara,” she said, bowing politely. “I’m from Germany. Nice to meet you all.”

Everyone welcomed her warmly. I just sat there, sulking. And then came the worst part.

“She’ll be sitting right there — next to you, Levy,” the teacher announced.

I almost groaned out loud. Clara walked to her seat with a dark aura hanging around her. She didn’t even look at me, but the death glare she gave said everything: Why do I have to be stuck with you again?

I only smiled, because seeing her annoyed was my one small victory of the day.

As the lesson went on, I started to doze off — only to be sharply elbowed in the ribs.

“Levy,” the teacher called out, noticing me stand up in pain. “Would you care to give us the answer?”

I blinked, completely lost. Before I could stammer a reply, Clara’s hand shot up. She gave the correct answer flawlessly.

The class clapped. The teacher smiled.

And I stood there feeling like an idiot.

“She’s a great example, Levy,” the teacher said.

I sat back down, glaring at Clara, who smirked ever so slightly. She’d planned this. I was sure of it. But I let it slide — for now.

When class ended, Matsuda and Motohama immediately surrounded me.

“Yo dude, that girl is fine!” Matsuda grinned. “Her English, her accent, man… pure art. Compared to yours, you sounded like a caveman!”

I ignored them and slipped past. Today wasn’t about them — I had a meeting to attend.

I made my way to the Occult Research Club room, knocked, and stepped inside when invited.

Rias sat behind her desk, her crimson hair glimmering under the light. Her eyes instantly fell on the Omnitrix wrapped around my wrist.

“I came,” I said, raising my hand slightly. “So you’ll help me, right?”

She had promised to guide me through understanding my sacred gear if I awakened it. In return, I’d help her when needed — though I had firmly refused to become part of her peerage.

The rest of her team was there: Issei, Akeno, Koneko, and Kiba. I also noticed a new face — Asia.

I hadn’t realized she’d joined Kuoh after being saved by Issei. I’d been too focused on the Omnitrix to pay attention to any events lately.

Rias rose from her seat and approached. Her fingers gently brushed against the Omnitrix, tracing its surface as if studying it.

I caught Issei glaring — jealousy practically oozing out of him. His Boosted Gear almost flared in reaction.

“I see,” Rias said softly. “You’ve acquired the new addition to the Thirteen Longinus.”

Her words froze me.

“How… how do you know about that?” I asked.

She smiled faintly, then let go of my hand. “The Omnitrix — the mysterious sacred gear whose origins remain unknown. Every major faction has been trying to get their hands on it. If word spreads that you possess it, not only the Grigori, but the Holy Church itself will come after you.”

The weight of her tone sent a chill through me.

“But,” she continued, “if you manage to unlock its full potential, you could become unstoppable.”

Rias turned away, her long hair swaying as she returned to her seat.

“So,” she said, glancing back at me with a small smile, “as per our pact, I’ll help you train. Meet me this weekend.”
