Sparrow and Nyah, father and mother of Thiqa.

Nyah was born the daughter of the Polemarch Ramadhani. While she inherited her father's brilliant mind a cubhood illness left her with chronic health issues, removing her from ever being able to train as a soldier. Instead she became her father's assistant. She has spent her life studying strategy and the Empire's military history - there are few questions she cannot answer at the drop of a feather.

Sparrow came from nothing. A lion of simple origin he made a name for himself amongst the spy network until he came to power as a true spymaster. Impressed by the male Ramadhani brokered a marriage proposal between Sparrow and his daughter, which the former was eager to accept. Marriage into one of the most powerful families in the Empire was nothing to sneeze at and the lioness he was to be promised to was both quick-witted and easy on the eyes.

Nyah and Sparrow married with a relationship that was friendly but leaned towards business rather than pleasure for many years. It wasn't until their first children were nearly grown that they found that at some point they had indeed come to love each other.

Nowadays it's common to catch the pair making doe-eyes at one another over reports from Sparrow's spy network, caught up in the romance of mixing business and pleasure.
