Ok so nice to see #LuvArmy and #Ducks here & comment about the antics of the faction of #naziArmy that is dragging BTS message into hate. I’m a culture righter from Canada & I’ve never been so triggered by disgusting fan behaviour since the Who stampede in 1989 (which was a whole different level) or Hedley fans rape apologist behaviour two years ago. So I wrote a blog about this. https://nihonnaifu.wordpress.com/the-world-wise-fall-of-bts-to-its-toxic-stans/ it’s a bit radical in that I task BTS or BigHit to pull in or purge the #naziArmy faction but I think I provide solid reasons after workshopping it in a Quora debate with a #luvArmy fan. If you feel strongly about this please look at the petition at the end of the article. I know it’s a strong hit back but back in the 90s I was an ACTUp QueerNation activist and queercore punk fan and as an #elderfan (56yo) I’m quite protective of my Duck journalists & share the vision of gender challenging and skinship promoting effect of the Korean Wave. Flower Boys are fierce. But hateful bitchy stan fans, #naziArmy need to be wiped off like.... anyway...wiped off before the Western press kill the Kpop Luv Wave when they see the hypocrisy of the hater #naziArmy toxify the message w rape and death threats to Jewish women. In the post #metoo area nothing will kill a boyband faster in the West than yet more fascist fandom. We’ve already had too much. Korea has shown us mostly Luv - let’s keep/make that pure. Ban #naziArmy. Urge RM or Suga to chastise them like the UN UNICEF leaders they are. Sign the petition. And yes, consider a complete BTS boycott and DKDKTV BTS news blackout if this #NaziArmy doesn’t #GFYINTA. Silence =Death ducks start flockin’ together.

I really appreciate all the hard work you both (Danny and David) put into every DKDKTV video. It’s nice to be able to hear the news and opinions on the ground in Korea. I’m deeply sorry for all of the hate and negativity sent your way. Please keep doing what you do and know that you are loved and supported. I look forward to (and hope there is) the part 2 with Tamar. It would be fantastic.

Words of Encouragement and Upped My Tier LevelI watched this video and David's apology. I did leave comments on both vids. I know that you are suffering great damage at the moment, but I want you to take courage and find a way to continue the good work that the two of you have been doing. I looked at Social Blade and saw the mass of unsubscribers. I hope that you realize that the majority of that loss were probably viewers under the age of 20, maybe 25. I'm willing to bet that all of your mature subscribers are still willing to be supportive of you because they can appreciate that the two of you are still growing as professionals.

I just signed up for your Patreon because I love what you guys are doing and I am APPALLED at how you have been attacked these past few days. The work you do is insightful, well-informed, and interesting and I appreciate that you (especially Danny) have not been afraid to voice your honest opinions. Keep up the good work. Danny, please don't leave You Tube. We support you.

I have been watching you guys for awhile and really enjoy your personalities and opinions. So that is why I decided to become a patron. I enjoyed this interview and the different perspectives, as an ARMY I am really disappointed and sad at how you are being treated by the fandom. I hope you don't let this stop you from creating good content and that you continue creating what you want. I will continue to support you guys because I think you have worked really hard and deserve it. I really enjoy both of you so much, this is just a bump in the road don't let it discourage you.

Danny just wanted to let you know that I’m Army and out of human decency I respect your opinions and that of your guest although I disagree with some of what you said. It’s healthy to having differing opinions and views of things. I am deeply disappointed in the comments being said on Twitter/YouTube and the hate mob mentality that others have created there. While I do defend BTS on every level I will not be apart of that mob. My teenage daughter is also Army and was brought to tears as to how everyone has been handling this situation. I’ve taught her to be respectful of others and their opinions and feelings. We both have chosen to take a break from most social media and just enjoy our love of BTS how we first did when we found them and not engage on Twitter any longer. I hope in your time of taking a break as well that you can heal and regroup and come back because we truly appreciate you and David. Quack Quack🐥

Get well Danny and keep fighting! My favorite kpop is only BTS and I have bought all their albums (japanese too). What I also have are friends who dislike BTS and I still love my friends. Just because you have some opinions I don't agree with will not make me dislike you. In fact you have opinions about BTS that I do agree with. I learned a lot from you regarding BTS messages and help me to understand quite a lot about BTS, South Korea, and many other topics. I think you give lots of value and is a good person. You should not be getting hurt by people like this. Don't be afraid, recover quickly and get back to work.

kagnad

Danny, I really hope you are doing okay. I am so so sorry for the hate that was came your way and I can't condone the way some Army's have treated you. People are entitled to disagree and express that, but no one deserves hate. I don't think your actions were right either, but it's all turned into a big hate-filled mess. Please take care of yourself and I hope we hear from you soon.

What the hell is happening. The cancel culture (at least, this extreme version of it) is weird as f. As long as you guys continue to make quality content, and don't commit crimes, I'm here to support. I get it, if you want to stay away from social media and youtube for a while, but please don't abandon the patreon ducks. We aren't going to abandon you guys either. (I support you guys individually as well, but DKDKTV is better together! Hang in there David, and please stay sane and real Danny.)

This. I saw the apology video before the podcast video, so when I went to watch the podcast, I thought the spawn of satan was going to be onscreen. But when I listened, I heard nothing but a respectful conversation between two adults expressing their opinions. Nothing hateful, nothing really even controversial. I think she said it best, with the hate she's gotten - willful misinterpretation. And when I went back to the comments on the apology video, I realized people were jumping on a hate bandwagon and hadn't even listened to the podcast. This cancel culture is horrible. And that level of fanaticism is...well...frightening. I'm so sorry Danny and David.

Kristina

I'm very worried.. Danny just deleted his insta.. and I just saw his tweet. Danny, please be ok.

I’m still here for DKDKTV! Hey Danny and David, you nice, keep going!

I hope you both continue to honor your thoughts and opinions and continue to share your thoughts and opinions with people who will honor them as well. It is unhealthy to lash out at someone that you don’t agree with. There is no need to change to appease unhealthy interpersonal reactions from others.

Just want to say I have been thinking about becoming a patron of your channel for a while now, as I love your content. I knew I had to take the plunge when I saw all the hate you got for this video. People are fucking stupid. While I didn't agree with everything yo said, it was nothing hateful. I found your discussion interesting and enlightening. I also looked up the articles that she wrote that people hated on her for. People are too sensitive, she had a badly worded title of an article with a forced pun, but the content was totally different. People don't read or listen. I think she was just trying to be clever... This blow-up is pretty indicative of what is happening in America right now where people hear what they expect and approach others' opinions with a pre-formed judgment in their minds. This is exactly what is happening in America on a political level and a societal level, so try not to take it personally.

Eri

I think people stopped listening and decided you were being rude or dismissive when you weren't. Mostly you weren't even talking about BTS but about how they impact the media cycle. It was an interesting discussion about mostly business/industry things and media cycles. Also, as an army, I totally agree that BTS world is creepy AF. I'm sorry you're getting hate for this.

Aubrey

Unfortunately, you know how army spreads everything instantly? Ya well... my timeline is full of anger and outrage right now.. I even saw some people asking their followers to report the video to BH. I'm worried..

Eve M Kng

Danny! I really loved this podcast! I was interested in your opinions of BTS World because I can't bring myself to play it personally. I saw a video as for it and it was just one step too cringey for me (I know I'm the minority). I thought Tamar brought up a good point about how fan created fanfic or fantasy content is different than when it comes from "the top". Thanks for the great interview.

3xdeadsmith

Im an army myself, but honestly think that you guys kept talking about bts world and bts in general for too long, and i almost wanted to give up watching it. No offence or any hate intended, just wanted to point it out. I still love these podcast!! But I agree with Eve that maybe you should’ve just kept it in here LOL! hope there wont be too much hate flow on twitter and youtube ><

LalaS

Sad to say but you guys are gona get a looooooooooooot of hate for this. This woman is heavily hated by ARMY, especially after the shit she pulled last year. Should have left it here on patreon..

Eve M Kng

Danny, I just wanted to say Thank You for doing these elaborate video podcasts; especially with k-pop writers. The content itself is very interesting and I like the video format because it allows you to put a face to the name and also get a better feel of the guest’s personalities. As someone who changed professions and has taken up writing after doing something completely unrelated for the past decade, I find the podcasts very helpful to learn about career paths while also understanding the pros and cons of the job. Riddhi’s episode was relatable because I’m from India too and I could totally get her perspective. This one with Tamar is just so good; it has helped me look at the job with a new lens. I’m nobody, but please convey my heartfelt gratitude to Tamar for sharing her experience. <3

Nerissa

I love your interview! I hope you'll do a lot more in-depth interviews like this one; after 90 minutes, I was sorry it was over.
